Aiko

I finally told my mom about me. Not only is she accepting she is going to help me find a therapist and help pay for sessions. I had to tell her in an email because I couldn't work up the courage to tell her face to face and i never had a moment alone with her. I am still unsure how my dad will react when he does find out.

I'm glad your mom is taking it so well and hope your dad will at least be tolerant and open minded.

Welcome to the forums. I think you will find that someone will be here for you no matter how your dad takes it and there are answers for most if not all of your mom's questions here from someone.

So I talked to my mom face to face to day. She thinks I am to young to make this decision. It is her belief that I am just depressed and its all Ashlee's fault that I think I am a girl because she is a lesbian. She is only going to pay for sessions if its a general therapist and wants me to go on happy pills. I have been this way all of my life and now that i want to change so i can actually be better she just wants me to go on happy pills and ignore what the real problem is.

Aiko, keep in mind our friends and relatives do not feel that we transition to a healthy sane person. They feel like they are loosing a person from thier life. Like you were dying. Give her time and she might come around and really suport you.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

It takes a while Aiko, my parents are against it and wont help me a bit. I've been seeing my therapist almost 2 years now and am about to start HRT and my parents still throw a fit when ever I walk in with a new t-shirt or something.

My mom is just now coming around to it, but still fight with her about once a week. Its taking a while but I think she'll come around eventually, i'm sure your mom will too *moms are easier than dads*

If your a MtF then dads can be really hard. As i'm told by people, no father wants a gay son especially a transsexual son.
