Hello guys and ladies. I've written my first draft of the letter I'm going to send out to my family about being a transmale. My psychologist will look it over and we'll go from there. Thankfully, he's had alot of experience helping transgender patients write coming out letters to family, friends and work.

I want to include some helpful website links in the letter. I have a few site ideas but I wanted to know of any you all might recommend. I want the sites to be informative but also maybe targeted to family of a transgendered person. Were there any sites or info you gave your family when coming out that you thought was helpful for them?

My parents looked for links on their own but possibly the best site is lauras-playground.com. They have chatrooms for parents of transfolk and information.
Good luck with everything. It kind of makes me wish I didnt come out until I was an adult so my parents couldn't interfere.

Oh, trust me- adult or not parents still want to interfere with your life. ::) At least as an adult they can't force you to do- or not do- things.

My parents don't interfere with my sibling's life after they moved out. Their stance is, "I raised them the best I could, it's up to them to make their own choices."
Don't be scared to fly alone, find a path that is your own
Love will open every door it's in your hands, the world is yours
Don't hold back and always know, all the answers will unfold
What are you waiting for, spread your wings and soar

I don't think very many are like that. Many seem either too clingy and controlling, or they just don't care.

It depends on the parents in the end.
