I'm now nearly 30 years post-op and I am rather aware that surgical techniques have improved some over the past three decades.

I've never had any complaints about function - no leaks, about 7 inches depth (I can still lose the entire dilator!) good sensitivity everywhere and I'm easily multi-orgasmic. I even became largely self lubricating.

However - I've never been entirely happy with the cosmetics - although my outer labia are almost perfect, I have no real labia minora to speak of and the clitoral hood area, although clearly identifiable has never looked quite right.

I've been intimately examined by doctors on at least a couple of occasions, for different reasons and none of them has ever commented - nor indeed have any of my lovers (both male and female - I'm Bi). But like I say I have never felt that it is quite right...

Partly I now know that is for anatomical reasons - for various reasons my ureathra is very non standard which caused my original surgeon some quite severe problems but even so I think something could be done to tidy the old girl up a bit.

So here is my question.

Is there anyone (particularly in the UK) who specialises in cosmetic reworks - ie labiaplasty - what is involved and what is the cost likely to be? I've heard that such proceedures can often be done under local anasthetic and that you can go home afterwards. Is this correct?

Basically are there any other post-ops either long-term or short-term who have any experience of this sort of prettifying and would you reccomend it?

I think that it is very difficult to get esthetic judgments out of doctors.
Even if your genitals were upside-down all you'd get is, "Well, there is a lot of variety in women's genitals."

If you're unhappy, do something about it.

Indeed - I know that is good advice... even though I have allowed things to ride up until now. So the question really boils down to cost and feasibility. Input from anyone with experience of this process greatly appreciated.

Id certainly recomend it, when I had my surgery it was a bit of a mess down there, about 3months after I had a labiaplasty ''a very prettifying job'' I was very pleased with the results.
I had mine done under a local anasthetic, didn't feel any pain just a little soreness with all the stitches afterwards, a very good result and very natural vagina, I had other seperate girly problems but that was related to the grs, any boyfriends I had never complained, some guys didn't even know I was trans, a BF of 10years ago said I had a very pretty pussy, but then proceeded to dump me when I tolded him I was trans, funny old world, dam if you do and dam if you don't.
Im now have a BF who fully excepts me as I am, loves me for the woman I am.

i am not sure how it's in UK but usually plastic surgeons who do not specialize in srs but do regular labiaplasties do not like to temper with a neovagina, they do not know what has been done so they do not like to take the risk and cause complications. u r better off seeing an srs surgeon for a labiaplasty because they can alter the cosmetic appearance without ruining the work u had done.

Thanks to everyone who took the trouble to reply.

I have now made enquiries with a leading UK surgeon and have been pleasantly surprised at the response - both in terms of feasibility and price.

I am advised that because the work which was done has been working well and has no functional problems the procedure is likely to be relatively minor and routine... SO... after xmas I'm going to treat myself to a very pretty pussy!  :)

Glad to hear you can do it in UK. All the best with it!  ;)

Best of luck rejennyrated, you'll have no regrets and Id say in these modern times the surgery is even better, I had mine done more than 20years ago, things have moved on since than, you'll sail thru it, good luck.

Thank you both - although in fairness to the work done by the likes of Mr Philip and Mr Dalrymple, back in the early 80's, the fact that in all this time I have had nothing more than a cosmetic issue is a lasting tribute to the fact that their work in the UK was, for its time, quite excellent.

When I hear of the troubles that some more recent girls have had with depth, sensation and other issues it makes me realise that I was very lucky indeed. But it will be really lovely to feel that the cosmetic appearence is at last on a par with the functionality.
