You didn't have to take it out darling, I was just making conversation  :-*

I like to use spiro and dutasteride together, and I prefer dutasteride over finasteride because it's easier on the liver. I don't know if they would be enough by themselves, that's an interesting thought.

Does anyone know of any advantage finesteride/ditesteride may have over spiro?

finesteride/ditesteride should be taken in addition with Spiro as they are both targeting two very different types of testoterone. finesteride is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor, a drug which inhibits the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). It is often used for hair receeding problems.

Doing anything physically to eliminate T from being generated is dangerous. Some have been successful but barely lived. I once thought I was out of T Blockers and was actually preparing to try crushing the cords to my evil twins but found some blockers I forgot I had! Whew!

If you are interested in reading stories about this kind of stuff Eunuch.org is a great resource.

But like Janet says! Orchi and needs to be by an MD.

Yes I'm aware of the DHT metabolite, but since spiro stops T production from the testicals & blocks T receptors I'm wondering wondering why anything more would be neccissary. Is any sort of harmful levels of DHT left over after spiro?

I removed the word.  I don't know what to call them

I was talking to Abby dear, we were briefly discussing terms for male anatomy. Sorry for the confusion  :-*

As I understand it spiro is ~ok alone, but since dht blockers exist we like to use them too and really cut into the effects of the lil bit of T that spiro misses.

Yes but you also might be feeling the vein and artery.  The only way to reduce or eliminate "T" is through blockers or Orchie or SRS.  And an Orchie is one of those "Don't try this at home" things.

Janet

What? Don't try at home? LOL  ::) You mean you can't just grab some really big clippers and just go chop, chop? Or go online and check out some of the hack-jobs (including pictures) that other people have tried, and hear about the stories of people going to the hospitals with major infections, or to the psych ward, or to an early grave? Then finding out later it really messes it up when they go for SRS 'cause they major scar tissue and they risk sensitivity and looks? Or worse?

Awwww... okay, no getting elastics, shears, or shot guns to the poison factories. Good old T-blockers or Orchi (by a doctor) or SRS. Tis the way it is. :)

Gah, and yeah, I did look that up one time ago. And, yeah, I found pictures of people who've done some pretty crazy things... I've seen penises chopped off, the boyz in the bag sorta chopped off... eh, no. And, the stories of shady docs with no licenses doing all kinds of operations, injections with free silicone (and sometimes motor oil)... uh, pictures and video. No try at home. Oh, please, no... bad idea.

It's really scary what some people end up doing out of desperation. I totally understand that desperation. I really do. But, really, it's not a good idea to go that far. This is why I really think things should be more accessible in terms of SRS and insurance funding. And, it's not just even when people do self or back yard surgery, but some of the dangerous situations that people end up going through to get the money, and some of the abuse that they suffer. 'Tis the season for trans-day of remembrance. :(

No, no, don't try it at home. No self-orchi's. Go to a doc (real of course). As much as you don't like it, it's well worth to get the orchi or SRS done professionally... you don't wanna end up screwing it up so you end up with nothing, or getting worse than nothing...
