So...I've been trying to set an appointment at a family wellness clinic for hormone therapy for about 3 weeks now.It was very hard to contact the lady in charge of the program....She finally called me back yesterday and told me that my consultation appointment is on January 26th. Man that's very far from now! I'm getting really anxious! She said I would have to make another appointment for blood work after the consultation. That's probably going to take another couple months after the consultation appointment!
I mean,I don't want to complain much because the service is cheap...but man I wish they could see me sooner.I tried searching for private doctors, but they no longer provide the service. So I guess I just have to hang in there.

It'll go by quick, but I remember feeling anxious when I had to wait. Before you know it a couple years will have gone by :-)
They may just do the blood test right after the consultation, thats how mine had worked out...
Good Luck!

Idea  Make the second appointment now for after your consult by a week maybe. i do stuff like that all the time. I think it is why they tel you that you will need to.

I asked if I can make the appointment now but they want me to set it up on the day of the consultation.

Despite January being so far away,  I'm seeing my therapist on January the 11th. So maybe we'll end up going on T around the same time or something. :D

Wish you the best, I know how far away it seems.
Don't be scared to fly alone, find a path that is your own
Love will open every door it's in your hands, the world is yours
Don't hold back and always know, all the answers will unfold
What are you waiting for, spread your wings and soar

Yeah, in Ontario we get free healthcare, which means if we make an appointment with a non-private doctor sometimes we have a waiting list because that doctor might be particularly busy. Private practise is usually faster, but since a lot of people can't afford that they go with doctors covered by the government. Sometimes you can get denied if you're too far away, even if it's an hour away.

lol, and it took me forever to find him too, but patience is a virtue I  guess. For some reason November is going by really fast for me, I hope time goes by fast for you too. Keeping myself busy has done wonders.

Yea therapy session are pricey. Good thing you have healthcare.

I don't have healthcare at all. I got lucky with my therapist...I knew someone at the psych department at my school and she happened to know a therapist,at the school counselling center, who has experience in transgender therapy. My therapist asked for an approval for my therapy need because they only do short term therapy. I'm glad she got it approved!

Some places it takes a long time to get the first appointment but after that it doesn't take as long. Hope that is what happens in your case!

Thank you! I am excited. I saw the doc on Friday and did the labs today. The plan is to meet him again on Tuesday and he'll go over the options and prescribe! =)
