I work at a retail store. I've been on T for about 5.5 months and live stealth (I'm young, so the T took root quickly). I pass 99% of the time (in an area where it's rather difficult due to a, shall we say, heterogeneous sexual and gender-expression culture), again probably helped by my young appearance actually having a corresponding physical age. Yesterday a man and his two little girls (ages maybe 9 and 7 or so) came up to the counter.
Him: "Excuse me, I'm looking for *blah blah*."
Me: "No problem, it's over there by the *blah*. I'll show you."
Him: Come on *Names of little girls*, follow the...*pause*...girl."
*another pause*
7-or-so-year-old: DADDY. That's not a girl!
9-year-old: Yeah, he's got a voice like yours, and he isn't all...*holds her hands up to her chest to mimic boobs. Two little girls burst into giggles*
("Daddy" was very embarassed and made a point to call me "sir" twice during checkout)
God bless a rare reversal of the no-go-with-children passing scenario.
