Delete Account?

Since I have less than fifteen posts, I'm unable to gain access to my profile. And since I can't get to my profile, I'm unable to delete my account. Is there anyway for me to have my account deleted?

Why do you wish your account deleted, Hon?

It's complicated.

The website itself is great, and the community is very welcoming, supportive, and informative. However, I share an e-mail account with my family and since I'm not out to them, and since all of the transgender communities I was a part of are linked to my family's account, I didn't want to risk the possibility of an e-mail getting through (even though I made it so that no e-mails from any of my profiles could be sent to the account, but still.)

I was getting to the point where I was horribly paranoid. Every time my parents would log on to check their e-mail I became very anxious. One small e-mail could have outed me and then things probably wouldn't have gone too well. Also, I have this idea that I pretty much convinced myself that I was trans so I'm trying to avoid all websites, that I was a member of, that discuss transgender/transsexual matters.

Perhaps you could sign up with hotmail or Gmail, etc and have any sensitive emails or accounts linked to that private location? Just a thought.

I did have a yahoo account which is where I had all of my e-mails from here sent, but it didn't help with the anxiety. They asked for a second e-mail to verify, and they wouldn't let me regeister without it so I had to use my family's. Then, I unverified it and had to tell yahoo permenently not to send anymore e-mails to the account, but then my mom had registered with yahoo and I was afraid that she would somehow find my account (I had no personal info or anything, but that still didn't lessen my anxiety.)

Basically, I'm way too paranoid.

Keep your account,  just mark it so you are not notified of anything by e-mail, clear your history every time and just watchwho is around when you are not on.

That seems a bit cold harted.  Why can't the account be deleted?

Hi there.

Janet has given you good advice. My family uses msn and I have an email address there as well as one on Google which I use for my personal messaging that I want to keep from my family and I do not give out my passwords. I also keep the 'delete browsing history' box ticked in Internet Options so this doesn't show up when someone else uses the computer. If you go this route always check this to make sure someone else hasn't changed the settings.

It can be deleted see? Worked on you...

Now that is cold hearted. Next time try following the TOS specifically rule 2.

J.J btw if you are using Mozilla Firefox you can press ctrl-shift-delete to clear history for a short period of time so it doesn't look like you are clearing history.

Thanks Susan. I didn't know that.

Firefox also has "private browsing" as an option (in the tools menu)

@ Susan and Flan.  OK you two smarties.  I use Firefox and did not know that, but I don't care as I am the only one that uses this one.  But I will remember that for the next one.  ;D

I know this is probably too late for this member, but for the record, mail.com provide a free email service where you pick up your email online.

They don't ask for a second email account or anything else. You can collect your email from any computer.

May I also suggest, while I'm at it, that passwords, to be reall secure and easy to remember, should be in the form of a phone number. Then all you need to do as a reminder is write the name of the person whose phone number you're using.

EG. Aunty Susan 01 234 56789 becomes oiz34s6789

Sorry to revive an old thread and also if this should have been posted elsewhere.
