Drag Queen Anna Conda (a.k.a. Glendon Hyde) Running For District 6 Supervisor
http://sfist.com/2009/11/30/drag_queen_anna_conda_aka_glendon_h.phpGlendon Hyde (who performs under the drag name Anna Conda and won the Miss ->-bleeped-<-shack competition in 2004) filed paperwork today to become a candidate for SF Supervisor in District 6 in 2010 -- the seat currently filled by Chris Daly who will be termed out as of next year. Hyde joins a race against possible candidates Jane Kim, Debra Walker, Jim Meko, and, potentially, Human Rights Commissioner Theresa Sparks.
Hyde has long been a passionate advocate for the homeless and for LGBT causes, and throughout the Prop 8 fight and aftermath, he has been marching and organizing marches (in and out of drag) in support of marriage equality.
