SRS without hair removal

I've been thinking a lot about this lately. I'm planning on having SRS done by Dr. Brassard in April and he doesn't require hair removal to be done. A lot of others do require it.

My question is mainly to the people who've had SRS without hair removal, and specifically those who had their SRS done by Dr. Brassard, but any other doctor is fine too. Was there any problem with hair growth in the vagina? If so, what did you do to fix it?

I'm just kind of worried that the clearing he does prior to surgery won't get everything and I'll end up with hair in the vagina and no way to remove it. Does anyone have any information or experience with this?

Back in my day it was something they just did for you. You didn't get the option.

I have one solitary hair inside - which every now and again I have to get between my fingers when in the bath and pluck.

Dr. Brassard has an info sheet describing his rationale for no genital electrolysis.
Basically, scraping off the hair follicles during surgery is pretty effective if they can be seen.
Doing electrolysis immediately beforehand makes the follicles harder to locate.
You are left with the choice of either doing electrolysis much earlier so that you can verify that you have actually removed everything
or just leaving everything alone and hoping that the scraping will get everything.

Granted, the idea of any hair in the vagina is fairly repugnant.
The reality is that any lover would need a speculum to see any stray hairs.

Renate, I have read that document of his and it makes sense. But in reality the results could be different. It would seem that the hairs are mostly all gotten rid of since I haven't really seen anyone talk about this issue after having SRS with Brassard, and I'm sure there's a lot of people who've gone to him. That makes me a little less worried, but I just wanted to see if maybe there were cases of this but it wasn't something that was talked about before. Thanks for the info.

It wasn't a requirement for Dr. Biber in 1974 ..... but my hair was very sparse anyway and what little other body hair there was disappeared after surgery. Aside from the normal female triangle, I have never had hair on the labia majora, minora or anywhere 'inside' - just bare and pink.

I'm juts having hair removel as I've a good few along the first third of IT that will be slightly inside but alos I have quite a lot about one inch from the end that would be deep inside so I'm having laser for the dark ones and electrolysis for the white ones
I've alsways kept it well shaved to look 'weak and not macho' so when I got word to go to hair removal I let it all frow and afetr about 4 weeks the hair had grown enough to be really noticeable.
I have no date for SRS yet so I hope to get two more laserings and a couple more electros and then it should be hairless enough. 
The pubic hairs do seem to be self-shedding at less than one inch ong so perhaps they wouldn't grow to the tangled mess that one UK regretter's b/f used as an excuse to leave her.

Hi Sara, I too was concerned about the hair removal but when the surgery date with Dr Brassard was moved up to two months from six due to a cancellation I decided to trust him and his views on hair removal. I really can't say I have heard any complaints about his method and if there were, it appears they would be minor and of no real consequence.

Being post-op now for only a month I will say I have no regrets going to Dr. Brassard. Not only is he a top surgeon, I found him to be caring and compassionate. He actually took the time to see and talk to me just outside the OR. I had been laying there waiting with tears running down my cheeks, a thousand thoughts going through my head. He took my hand and reassured me that evrything would be okay and he would take the very best care of me.

Every time I saw him after that or saw him talking with the other patients, both M2F and F2M, he took the time to honestly converse with them. He really is one of the best in my opinion. His staff and  after care are no less caring. Hugs and good luck.

My surgeon, Dr. McGinn, is one that requires it. I found an electrologist in Sydney that does it, and I have the first session this Tuesday... oh joy I'm looking forward to THAT. (not really.)  I don't have a lot to begin with, but I'm not too overly concerned about it to be honest, since Dr. McGinn also does the scrape and cauterize thing. I think it's just a precautionary measure.

I give hugs to everyone! Ive yet to know someone who has given a hug to Brassard, I hope he doesn't get offended in any way.
