(I'm not 100% sure this is the right place for this post, but wasn't sure where else to put it. Apologies if I got it wrong!)

I love reading love stories, happy sad or bittersweet, so I thought I'd ask if anyone wants to share ;)
I'll start with mine:

Warning, it's kind of long.

I never had a problem getting dates with guys. I spent my first years of high school in the middle of one meaningless fling or another, but it was never very satisfying. I just couldn't get attached. I don't know why it took me so long to accept that I was a lesbian, especially after I came out as bi at the end of freshman year. I was just in denial, I guess, and afraid of being alone.

Finally, at the end of my sophomore year, I came out to myself and stopped dating guys. It took me until my senior year to come out to anyone else, but by the end of that year I was out to everyone.

This is where I found out that getting dates with girls is a lot harder, especially in a small town. I had one girlfriend at the beginning, but she was much younger than I and very full of drama. We lasted about a week.

I went off to college. I met a lot of new people, and got my heart broken a couple of times, but never dated anyone seriously. Finally, in the middle of a visit home, I met Wren. She was still in high school (a senior) and we had actually gone to school together for several years. We'd met, but I never really noticed her like that and we didn't get along. This time it was different. Why? In high school, she hadn't been Wren, but a guy. Meeting her in a setting where she was out and moderately comfortable, I was introduced to an entirely different person.

She was sweet, intelligent, funny, and adorable. That evening we started talking, walking around town. In the morning we were still talking, and went to get breakfast. That first conversation lasted 23 hours. I went back to school with stars in my eyes.

That first week was agony. We talked all the time, but she was in love with another girl at her high school and I was too shy to share my feelings. Finally the weekend came, and we went out dancing in a nearby city with some friends. That night we all crashed at my dorm. My other friends left early, one for work, the other to visit her family, leaving Wren and I alone. We ended up lying there and talking some more. (we had all fallen asleep in a giant pile on my tiny dorm bed. gotta love college.)

I'm really not sure who moved to kiss the other first, but after that it seemed kind of silly not to tell her that I liked her, and she said she felt the same. That year when she graduated, she applied for the college that I go to, and we got an apartment together. We've been living together for about 5 months now, and she's been living as a girl since she moved out of her parent's (very strict christian) house. The faculty at our school have been awesome and supportive, and her parents are starting to come to terms with having a daughter.

We're kind of a two-headed couple beast, one of those couples that gazes adoringly at each other across the room. I'm so in love :D

Thanks Janet :)
She may be showing up here sometime in the near future. It's always nice to have people to talk to, especially with experiences you can relate to. Everyone here seems so nice, I'm looking forward to being a part of it.
