Let me introduce myself, although I think some of you already know me.  My name is Bren, I live in San Diego, I've been on hormones for 6+ years, am on Facebook (you can find me if you search bnice2meplease@yahoo.com), and I'm married to a lovely woman who loves me as Bren.  I have had no surgeries yet because it's hard to save when your ex wife siphons off all your extra money.  I did have money last year, but the financial crisis hit...and my sales were cut in half...ouch, so I had to use my savings to survive.  I live a quiet life.  I'll be 54 on the 17th...how time flies.  I have so many years of living as a male, I don't know if I'll ever realistically be regarded by the world as fully female...but, such is life.  My focus is not on stealthy living, but on emotional wellness for myself and living authentically to myself.  People can accept me for me or not.  I'm the home-body of our couple.  I do the shopping, cooking, and housekeeping.  She does laundry (which I hate to do).  I love to travel, eat out, go to movies, museums, talk to friends, and many other creative pursuits.  I write poetry, many you can read on http://brendthepoet.blogspot.com.  Thank you for having me.

Hi Bren, :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 3700 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister. :icon_hug:

And be sure to check out

Blessed Be.

Thank you, Janet, for our welcome.  I will remember what you said.

Becca, I'm not a vegetarian, but I do like vegetables.  I'm not a vampire, don't go to vampire movies, and am not into that fantasy.  But, I have a black motorcycle and I like black clothing and some goth fashions.  To me, hormones are a serious medication that I take under a doctor's supervision, not a fantasy aid.

Welcome benice,

Becca, You're my kind of vamp but I too wonder about the "fantasy aid" comment.

Would you like to try greeting me again, without the vampires, hormones to make you a real vampire (???), or the sparkly vegetarian ones?  Or have I made a mistake joining this forum?  I wasn't sure how to respond to your comment in your posting signature that said you take hormones to become a vampire.  To me, vampires are fictional, so if you have some fantasy that you're a vampire, ok whatever, and if you're taking hormones to aid you in that fantasy...then you and I are not taking hormones for the same reason and I don't really want to interact with you about your fantasy game.

I'm not a kid.  I'm an adult, almost 54.  I'm a financial planner.  I'm a transsexual who has been under a doctor's care for over 6 years, I'm married, I have an 18 year old son, I like cooking, writing, making jewelry, traveling, and photography.  I'm a Christian, but I don't go to church, because I'm not welcome in most churches.  I've been a writer, director, actor in many dramatic productions.  I've been a soloist and chorus singer all my life, although I haven't been since my transition.  I had to detransition my documents, which said "Female" on them in order to marry my French fiance' (which was the only way we could be together.  So, the "groom" had a 38B chest.  I plan on surgically completing my transition when I save enough money.  I'll probably go to Dr. Reed for SRS and Dr. Spiegel for some FFS.  I live a quiet life, caring for my clients and working from my home office.

So, am I in the wrong group, or is this a serious site?

Never mind Becca.  She like to keep it light and fun.  You are in the right place.  Sometimes we get too serious.  And Welcome again.

Go back to your crypt, Becca.  Leave the poor Dear alone.

See we can be lighthearted.  But we can, like any family, get on each others nerves.  By the way, I am 55 and just as much a kid when it is called for.  And an adult woman for the most part.

Sorry, I didn't have any warning.  I can have fun too, but I thought I made a serious introduction.  I wasn't mentally prepared for the bizarre.

Well you have met Becca, and of course then there is Virginia Marie.  But most of us are very adult.

I'm sure Becca is a very nice person.  I'm sorry, I'm prickly right now.  I'm feeling seasonal sadness, being reminded involuntarily of my one brother's death a couple years ago, my other brother's distance and failing health as a kidney recipient, my parents' decline as 82 and 81 year olds, my 18 year old son's disinterest in seeing me, and memories of how my life "used to be" before involuntarily being outed and going through divorce and separation from the life I knew and pursuing transition, but not being able to afford to complete it so I'm left in limbo.  So, how's your life going?

Lots of Sisterly Hugs, Bren

Having been orphaned 2 years ago now.  Loss of my family.  I understand why you are being sensitive.  But many of us have been there and while it is hard, we do understand very much so.

I hope you find what you need here darling.

It's a signature, a humorous quote by one of my role models. It's no more bizarre than an avatar picture. We clearly haven't gotten off on the right foot, so I'll try again :)

Welcome!

Hi Bren  :)

Welcome to Susan's

I'm 48 and have several injuries that cause me allot physical pain on a daily basis
My folks are both in their 70's
My kids have no interest in me because I'm not rich and my X talks smack about me.
The rest of my family is dysfunctional as hell

I tend to kid about a bit. This helps to lighten the load so I'm not quite so heavy headed

Finding friends here at Susan's has helped allot

{{{HUGS}}} - Virginia
The main things to remember in life are Love, Kindness, Understanding and Respect - Always make forward progress

Superficial fanny kissing friends are a dime a dozen, a TRUE FRIEND however is PRICELESS

Oh, a tv show! Sorry, the term just ended and my brain is still a bit fried. The only tv shows I can really quote are Firefly and...uh...True Blood. I can talk about Anne Rice with you all night though  :-*

Hi Bren and welcome aboard.

At least we all share one thing in common and that's what makes this family very special. We all feel a bit prickly from time to time, but I can't think of a better bunch of people to bare your soul to.

Love Alexie
