Been awhile

Hey guys,

Its been quite awhile since i've posted and visited the site.  Been rly busy with work but have holidays xoming up next week which im looking forward to!  Tomorrow im going to a presentation by Mariette Pathy Allen (a famous photographer of trans individuals etc.).  If you ever read the book 'Becoming a visible man' by Jamison Green, she took the photo on the front cover and the back cover which is pretty awesome.  I'll be lucky enough to have a chat with her which i'm rly excited about.
The hormones are doing a great job.  Want to upload a profile pic but for some reason its not working anymore for me   Can anyone shed some light from the techno section as to how i can make it work?
Dont know if some of u rememberd i posted a while back about my doc and how he wpuldnt teach me to self inject and is just in it for the money.  When i mentinoed that I was able to buy my own 'T' and bring and still pay him a smaller fee to help me inject he insisted that he write me a ltter that i can take to any GP so they can help me, something that i'm quite annoyed about.  Need to learn how to selfinject but not too keen on doing it just yet.
Work is going ok but now i'm getting frsutrated at some ppl who still refer to me with the wrong rpnouns.  I know it takes a while to adjust but its been a couple of months now and enough is enough.  iIts rly undermining and i'll be going back into the classroom and if they slip up it will be embarrassig...So yea.
My gf came to visit me in October and we had an amazing time! and she'll be coming up again in feb which im rly looking forward to!
Still struggling a bit to save for my top surgery which i plan on going to America to get it done hopefully, fingers tripple crossed that I can do it in Decmebr next yr...
Anyways, just thought i'd say hi to oyu all again from Hong Kong!

Hi Josh. I know it's aggravating being called the wrong pronouns at work. It works me up and I'm not even out at work yet- so I can't blame them. Remember it takes awhile for people to readjust, especially if you've been there a long time. Their brains are still on autopilot to use female names.

BTW how did work take it in you coming out? Are the people supportive? I'm curious since I'll need to come out eventually and I don't think the owner and some employees will take it well at all.

So strange I was just wondering what happend to you yesterday. I was like that guy from Hong Kong has not been on for a while hope all is well with him. Strange. Good to know all is going well and good luck saving for surgery so worth it.

Radar, work actually took it rly well when I transitioned.  I went to school there for 3yrs prior (graduated their) then had already worked for a year and a half.  They helped devise a letter, a model which i had gotten from the NSW gender association.  When the letter came out people were rly supportive and i was given some really nice comments.  Of course I was expecting a few ppl, especially the males, to give me problems but they've all been pretty good.  One guy I thought who was going to be a real issue turned out to be one of the best!  No one ever slipped up on my name which I found great.  I did change departments for 6months during the main transition pahse and definitly had stares from kids so will see hwo it goes next year when i'm back in my old position - being in direct contact with them for the whole day.
They will be even more supportive if when u when come out, u have suggestions as to how to go about it as well instead of leaving it all up to them for example providing a model letter that they could tweak here and there.  How long til u plan to come out?

Hey Myles, glad to see things are going well with you!  How do you feel after top surgery? Pleased with the results?

I am definitely happy with the results. Had DI so the scars will take a while to heal. I am working in a warehouse now while going to school so all the heavy lifting is not great for the chest and I have a bit of fluid build up on one side but no biggy. So worth it in the end.

I'm glad things worked out well for you at work Josh. I read where a transwoman left out information about ->-bleeped-<- after she came out at work. They were placed so that people could pick them up anonymously. She put out alot of copies and they went very quickly. I like that idea because many people might be too embarrassed to ask a transgender employee questions.

I'll have to check out the NSW Gender Association model for work. It sounds like it will be a big help for everyone.
