Should I?

Okay, so I'm going to start hitting a public gym with my friends. One is completely understanding of where I stand on the whole gender thing, but one doesn't exactly know and both are male. I'll be going for just about a week, unless I'm able to get a full on pass, with the two of them.

So, my question is this: Should I use the Men's locker room or the Women's?

I generally pass as male, unless people already know I'm female or the people around me set other's off. I don't have a female voice unless I'm too comfortable, I have male mannerisms (with some female ones I'm trying to lose), apparently my hair and face are male (thanks to people's comments on this forum  ;D ), and I'm hairy enough (legs, underarms, arms, facial). It really is a suprise that my family doesn't question me terribly and assume I'm just an utterly butch lesbian.  ::)

I feel way too uncomfortable using the Women's, but I thought I'd ask what people here have tried and/or think. Thanks  :)

If you have to use one at all...use the mens.

The one that knows will be put a bit backwards I feel if you use the womens, and the one who doesn't really know.... well he's got to find out sometime.

I would however discuss this with them both prior to your gym experience thus you don't get outted embarassingly[even if they don't mean it to be] in the middle of a gym locker room.

If I ever went to a gym though I would arrive in my gym clothes and leave in my gym clothes.. no locker room necessary.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

Sounds like a good solution, but what do you do when your buddies or new gym acquaintances ask why?

To the two that said it, this is the simplest thing that I did not think of.  ::) I'm such a worrier that this completely did not click in my mind. I suppose this is something I can do mostly.

So now my questions are these: Should I use the Men's or the Women's in necessary situations? What happens if showering in comes into play? Are there other things to worry about with locker rooms use in either male or female?

I avoid the locker rooms at the gym completely. I would use what your Drivers License says, because if it does become an issue at all that is what you have as proof of ID.
Or just use whatever you are more comfortable with. Confidence is most of passing.

In a case of emergency I'd use the mens.  Walk in, do your business, and walk out.  I highly doubt any occasion would arise in which showering was absolutely necessary.  I'd rather stink up an important business meeting than shower in public.
