I am making a new thread because on this forum, replying to your own thread when you are the last reply doesn't allow you to bump the thread, and this just blew me away.
Yesterday I tried to fill my estropipate script at the pharmacy and was told I was not allowed to. The blood froze in my heart. I thought the jig was up and insurance was cutting me off. Turns out they do not allow you to do 'maintenance medication' retail, because it is more expensive. I have to go through the mail.
The past two months I have paid $10/month for my estrogen. That was such a bargain to me, after paying overseas prices.
Through the mail, I will receive 90 days for $5.
Spiro costs $5, for 90 days.
Avodart costs $60 for 90 days.
$23/month for HRT, not counting the microgest. I will have to talk to my doctor about that.
I went from almost crying from fear and misery to almost crying for absolute joy. $23/month... I spent *hundreds* of dollars the last year on hormones. I think my last estimate was around $1000 out of pocket.
I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO of Texas.
