Nevelle

Hi.

I'm Nevelle and I wonder if I am in the right place.

I was born male - or so everyone thought - and brought up as a male.  However, I always had doubts about my gender.  On of the reasons for this, apart from my feminine feelings, was that I grew breasts during my puberty years.  Eventually they developed so that they filled a "C"-cup bra.  Well, to cut a long story short, I am now 68 years old and two years ago I was diagnosed as having a rare intersex condition known as Ovotestis.  I was offered the option of either having my ovary removed or having sexual reasignment surgery to make me into a complete woman.  I turned down both offers and have decided to live my life as Mother Nature made me - somewhere in-between the sexes.

I look forward to hearing from you all and especially from those who are in a similar situation to myself.

Lot's of love,

Nevelle

Welcome to Susan's, Neville.  :icon_flower:  Yes, you are in the right place.

There's a lot of good information and good people here.  Each of our stories is unique but we have a lot in common.  Settle in, pull up a keyboard, and explore.

Be sure to look under the Announcements heading.  There you will find the rules we live by in this little world of ours: "Site Terms of Service and Rules to Live By", "Standard Terms and Definitions", and "Post Ranks".

You have a couple of years on me, and as far as I know I had a male body even though I'm a woman.  Over Christmas I read a book my sister bought, "Between XX and XY", that is a very good description of the various intersex conditions, so at least I now know what ovotestis is (are?).

We seem to come in a lot of flavors here on Susan's, but we have our gender-variance in common and end up with a lot of the same issues.

Welcome, and happy exploring. :icon_wave:

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another member. :icon_hug:
