Hey guys and dolls,

You know that female subcutaneous fat, known as our 'silken layer' - do guys lose that on HRT and do girls gain it?
I thought we would, however I've heard that it is present from birth in females, so that kind of tosses out that idea. Anybody know? I've found info about fat re-distribution with HRT, but nothing that clears this up.

I have not heard about any fat distribution as to the 'silken layer', but a girl can hope.  ;)

my endo said that old fat will not redistribute, but new fat will accumulate in the appropriate pattern.

so i guess the deal is to lean up a bit nero, and then new fat will be deposited in the male pattern

wish i could lose this muffin top lol but im afraid if i did my hips would disappear

Oh, I'm talking about that extra layer of fat under the skin that only females have. Wondering if it's HRT related or not.

Everybody has it. Everywhere, except the "zones of adhesion" or whatever they're called which do not carry any subcutaneous fat (spine, etc.)

Preadolescent children have roughly the same levels of body fat. Girls only have 1-2% more body fat usually. It's difficult to lose the subcutaneous fat, but yeah, FTMs lose it. I'm sure the MTFs gain it too although I haven't cared much to research the subject. Little girls do have a slightly higher concentration of subcutaneous fat than little boys, proportional to their slightly-higher estrogen levels. The big differences happen in puberty, as you know.
