I wish for a Christmas with my family, especially my kids.  One filled with love and acceptance.

When you judge others, you do not define them, you define yourself.

It would also be nice if all the family would stop feuding about silly things that happened hundreds of years ago.
But I live in hope.

My Xmas wish... I want to wake up and be a girl!
Well since that will not necessarily happen I have a ticket going off for a new jeep i wanna win that!

I know that it sounds trite... but I'd like to see world peace.  Call me a sucker or an everlasting hold out... but if I could have one wish, it would be that.

I would be happy with a successful, uneventful, drama-free holiday week

Wishing for Whirled Peas........Laurie
Ya put your right foot in.  You put your right foot out.  You put your right foot in and you shake it all about.  You do the Andro-gyney and you turn yourself around.  That's what it's all about.

I will be getting an early Christmas gift this year - a new birthday :)

But I think the best Christmas gift of all is being invited by our daughter to their house for Christmas.

The most important thing is safe travels for myself and all of my friends who will be on the road during that time of year.

The next thing I would want would be surgery.

After that it would be really nice to not get any boy clothes this year (I have been FT for years now but yet my mother bought me a boys t-shirt last year, she always has an excuse).

Okay then a question for all you cultured family types who just love to get together over the holidays!
ha-hummmmmmmmmmmmmm
Will you all be having ham over Xmas.........
cough cough.. I hate ham!
that's why i ask cause it seems to be such a huge holiday thing????????
Agghhhhhh i wanna have like a roast rib of beef or something and every freakin year my unsophisticated family argues the ham, carn sauce, relish tray and all that! (same thing with T-day coming up!)
when will the culinary revolution return!
Please
xmas' wishes early

We celebrate on Christmas eve. I bbq a bird in the Webber.  It is yummy!  Brick loves my home made rolls so I always make those... I make them into long shapes so they can be used for turkey sandwiches.

My best friend brings pies or some desert.

We also have a tradition for a really big breakfast on Christmas morning.  I fix Brick biscuits and gravy, really thick bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, and toast from home made bread.  I have something that is a ... errr... lighter ;)

I am looking for something different to go with the dinner.  I always make the same old side dishes.  I want somethin yummy with vegetables in it... anyone have a favorite that they'd care to share.

Well, for Christmas dinner that is traditional but uncommon, why don't you roast a goose?

At our house we always had Christmases that were very heavily influenced by German culture.  There it is traditional, at least where my parents came from, to roast a goose for Chrismas dinner.  It's not a bad tasting bird and they are available, if a bit pricy because they're not as popular as turkeys or hams.  Red cabbage braised in apple cider with cloves and a bit of cinnamon is a good side dish along with potato dumplings and gravy.  Unfortunately I don't have a formal recipe for the red cabbage, I play it by ear the way my mom always did, but it IS a different, slightly sweet/acid flavor that really complements goose or, even better, game such as venison.

For Christmas, though, I always dream about the cookies, the music and marzipan (YUM YUM YUM ! ! ! ! I love that stuff) - usually in the form of a pink little marzipan pig.

Ach, now I got started and I can't stop dreaming of Christmas!

hugs & smiles,
helen

For Christmas, I would like my family to have a change of heart and to understand I am still human and still a member of their family. I would like to go home, sleep in the bed I grew up in, and get a hug from my mother as her daughter on Christmas Eve.

Then, on Christmas morning, I'd like to share with my family how much happier I am now that I am myself - and to tell them their gift was the miserable awkward person they knew was never coming back.

Bri

PS- This is going to be a very hard holiday season for me.

The first few can be tough doll.  But you are strong. You'll hold up to it.  Someday, you'll go home and sleep in your old bed and share time with your family.  Believe me.  Just keep in contact with them and continually express your love.

A couple years ago, I showed up on my Mom's doorstep for Christmas morning.  She cried profusely, she was so glad to see me.  (I live so very far away that I don't get out much to see them).

It can happen and it is a beautiful thing when the love builds to overcome the feelings of hatred and self righteousness.

My first Christmas away (1986) was spent entirely alone.  I was staying with a T friend but she was out of town for the holiday.  I did call my mom.  I told her I that I loved her and she cried.  So did I.  I had nothing. I was lonely. I was staying in a dump. I had just had my breasts done and I wasn't feeling all that well yet.  It was one of the hardest and most difficult days of my life.  I drove around that afternoon looking for a place open to get something to eat.  There was nothing.  I went back to the dump and ate a bagel.

That was twenty years ago.  It is a good time to remember.  Every time I get to feeling a little down, I know that things can always be a lot worse.  I've lived them.

Chin up Bri. Call your mom on Christmas and tell her that you love her.  You don't need tell her anything else.  It might be just the thing to break the ice.

Oh, Cindy. This was just the thing to leave me a crying mess... I miss them more than words can say... I miss them all the time now... It is an ache in my soul that is never 2 seconds from my thoughts. I never imagined that they could do this...

* Brianna hugs
