She also revealed that many of her punters are wealthy businessman and celebrities who are desperate to "experiment" with a pre-op transsexual.

Miriam said: "The men I meet are hot. Some of them I'm even surprised at because they're well-known, rich, eligible men. Big boys, you know – businessmen, singers, actors.

Why put 'escort' in quotes?  Why not just use the right word?

Why put 'escort' in quotes?  Why not just use the right word?
Its a fair question.  A search of the Mirror's website shows they do use the word "prostitute" in other news articles.  I suppose the Mirror used "escort" in quotes to show that it is how Rivera bills herself.

A comparable example would be if I described the American Family Association as a 'Christian' organization.  The AFA sees itself as a Christian ministry, so technically I would be correct.  It is what they call themselves. However,  my putting the word "Christian" in scare quotes is a bit of snark on my part.  Perhaps the same could be said for the Mirror's headline?
