I've been conducting an ongoing experiment concerning whether or not lack of testosterone combined with estrogen will cause facial hair to diminish. I got laser a while back but guess what; the hair grew back. Anyway I've been keeping it all under control by pulling it out with tweezers and an epilator. However I left the patch right under my lip alone (simply shaving it off every day). It used to be as thick as could be (soul patch/mustache area is usually the thickest on most males). Its been nine months on HRT and that patch is getting rather sparse; containing maybe a quarter of the hair that was originally present.
It may just be that I am relatively young at 22 and managed to stem the beard growth before it could reach its full thickness. But it stands to reason that it could work for just about anyone. It will take a long time for it to go away completely because it takes a long time for the beard to appear in the first place. For instance, mine began to appear when I was around 16 or so and just gradually thickened over time. It stands to reason that perhaps it will thin out over time (albeit over the course of several years). Since most get electro, the natural thinning never gets the chance to take place.
Since scientific rigor requires repeatability I would like to get feedback from anyone who may have tried a similar experiment.
