LAHORE: Following in the footsteps of some state governments in India that hired eunuchs to recover outstanding arrears, the Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) in Multan has also decided to hire eunuchs for recovering unpaid bills. A private TV channel reported that Multan WASA had decided to hire the services of eunuchs after regular staff failed to recover over Rs 500 million in arrears. According to official figures, Multan WASA has more than 0.15 million consumers, half of which have never paid a single penny to the department.
