On here, I've tried so very hard to simply open up. Things which I've kept private for years and things which I've never faced up to at all.

I know, at times, I am a bit forceful and even a little overbearing, perhaps on issues that I think I really understand.

But to be quite honest, I'm doing this for myself more than others. I just hope, along the way, someone might get as much from me as I'm getting from everyone else.

I felt really silly writing that response. I'm not doing what most people are and I sometimes feel a bit of a fraud, to be honest. I'm just not ready and have too many issues, baggage if you like, to deal with first.

But your response has made me feel that it is really worth it.

This is a daunting task that we set before us when we decide to transition.  It is one that we must do and for many it is the first time in their lives that they have ever done *anything* just for themselves.

People will learn from your experiences.  There are those who have not progressed as far as you have and will look up to you.  Here we are all trying to pay it forward.

You are not a fraud as long as you are honest with yourself.  You are doing exactly what you need to be doing right now.  There is no master plan that must be followed.  We all walk different paths to become true to ourselves.

Our friends here help us through our long journey.  It is a journey that must be traveled alone, but we have many friends with us.

Actually you are pretty close.  The feelings are more dispersed than a male centric orgasm.

I actually find the orgasms so strong and generalised that I have to be careful not to pull a muscle....They sometimes seem to have an effect like being hit with cardio paddles...

But in a very real sense, no one can relate to how someone else feels *anything*.  There have been studies that try to compare orgasms between males and females.  On average a male orgasm has been described as feeling like blowing up a balloon until it explodes and a female orgasm has been described as eating something delicious until you are full. 

Or:
MALE: more more more more *explode*
FEMALE more more more more more more more more *stopStopSTOP!!!!!*

I also find that there are two trigger types for a female orgasm, the earlier ones tend to come as waves triggered from stimulation as might be expected, and then later it can just switch so that nothing happens until the stimulation is stopped...then bam!.....that really caught me out when it first happened. 

...and then there is the "timescale"..... I know there are jokes about the "male quicky", but when you realise that a female sensations can build over hours to reach a true *stopStopSTOP!!!!!* moment!... well it just puts things in a perspecive that I'm sure most males without GID will never understand ....

...and what the hell happens to the oxygen in the room while all this is all going on.....

On a very basic level much of our physical responses are similar because we all start as female in utero.  Much of the basic musculature and nerves are similar if not identical regardless of the birth gender.

I agree... but I never realised until recently, exacly how much remains dormant and is never used unless you go looking for it...

I think this discussion indicates as we purge our bodies T and replace it with the proper hormone estrogen we do respond much more like the woman we are. My male orgasms were quick and physical. My female orgasms are slow and as much mental as physical. I remember when I had my first female orgasm how my body felt wonderful all over for a long time. I have female orgasms much less frequently but they are worth the wait. Interestingly I am now much more interested in my partners orgasm than my own.

True, the sensations can be strong, but I was referring to how, with male genitalia, the orgasmic sensation is centered in the groin, but when having a clitoral orgasm, the sensation is dispersed throughout the body.  (I kind of like it that way...) And that thing with the oxygen happens to you too?  I thought it was just me... 

Also there are two separate nerves for orgasm.  Most males are not aware of the second one.  Most males relate to the clitoral/penile orgasm associated with the pudendal nerves.  As you may be aware, the glans is reduced by as much as 80% to create the clitoris.  As a result the sensation over the pudendal nerves is reduced significantly.  And in some cases a complete severance of the nerves can occur.

However there is location of sensation that is transmitted over a different set of nerves.  It is what becomes our G-spot or the prostate.  The prostate is not removed as part of vaginaplasty and can be come a center of some quite strong sensations and vaginal orgasms.  Most males do not engage in anal stimulation during intercourse and do not experience the strength of this type of orgasm.  For me this is where I have my more more more more more more more more *stopStopSTOP!!!!!* experience, though it can take quite a bit of time. 

I also become quite self lubricating during that type of stimulation, though, now, I think we're drifting into the "The Old Lube Question" thread... *more blushing*

Definately have to agree with that. Done by someone considerate your whole body seems to go into a sort of spasm of warmth and relaxation.

Over the past few years, I've read a fair amount on transgender boards about the differences between male and female orgasm, but to be honest, I'm not sure that there is one.  I've been post-op for nearly two years now, and orgasm itself seems more or less the same to me as it was before, though less intense.  I would argue that the process for achieving orgasm is different between the sexes, since sex (to me) feels much more sensual now than before probably due to increased skin sensitivity.  Before transitioning, having sex without orgasming at the end was horrible; the orgasm was the main point of the whole affair.  Now, when I have sex without orgasming, I don't mind so much, because the whole process felt better to me as a whole than it did when it was just an explosive male orgasm at the end.  Of course, I do enjoy orgasming when I do, it just doesn't happen predictably every time like a male orgasm would.  To me, sex feels better and different as a girl, but I'm not sure that I feel orgasm very differently than before.

I was just going to say what Lia said. Except that I never thought orgasm was the point of sex. I've had sex when I was just done without orgasm, and it was perfectly lovely, as well as lousy orgasmic sex. And I've had plenty of different "kinds" of orgasms, but classifying them as "male" or "female" is just silly, in my opinion. Anyone can have different kinds; most men just don't care to (or so I gather). Yes, hrt has messed with my sex drive, and things feel a bit different, but it's more the same than it's different. If I have orgasms after surgury, I'll be happy, end of story. Who cares if they're the "right kind"?

Yes some interesting replies ...I'm almost motivated to put some practice in but..... I don't much like 'the batcave' or touching the front bit not that I'm sure that would do anything... so how to practice? I've tried just touching my body and using my imagination but my mind just wanders or I get sleepy *shrugs*. I guess for me I need more time.. seven months in, it's enough for some but I feel I may need to wait, at least twelve months !?!?!?! *really not sure at all*.
Motivation and interest is holding me back, then technique/method.. then just being utterly clueless. lol. Hopefully time will change that.
