Wherever there is music and a dance floor.  Mostly I enjoy dancing at home doing housework.  Hey it is about the only exercise I get.  ;D

Like to Dance? Oh yeah! but never will in front of another human being as long as I live. One disaster is enough

How about a long slow dance staring into someone's eyes longingly.  The world just goes away.  ::)

I'm a terrible dancer. I just never wanted to dance like a boy, and I've always been rather defensive about being expressive with my body, so that really killed any chance at being much of a dancer. But I like to dance anyway, and every now and then I'll go to a club with friends. Usually a lesbian club ... which means nobody else can dance either.
All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another.

Personally dislike formal dancing of any kind.

Think music should be about expression and trying to appreciate what the musician is trying to do.

Learnt eurythmics at school and practice that to music whenever I can.

I have no idea how to dance.

What do people do in clubs etc? I'm just totally lost about what to do, move feet, wriggle, do what they do in video clips? Do a John Travolta >:-) saturdat night fever?

How and what do people do :'( :'(

I never danced ever and I always refused as I just felt awkward, foolish and overly self conscious but since starting HRT I find myself wiggling around doing little movements. Even my housemate picked up on it and laughed about it. It just feels like body movements just flow more freely now, I no longer have a stick up my butt!!
It can be sensual as well, with certain movements kinda just letting the music put you into a groove... I guess I could never move without this.
The music has to over come me to make me move... I guess hormones have helped me click in to that feeling that comes from the music.
So..... instead of THINKING how do I move my body to dance, it's become automatic as it just flows in response to the feeling of the music. I hope that makes sense, I'm not in a word mood right now. :P

If there's anything rhythmic (sonic, visual or tactile) going on anywhere near me - I'm dancing. The only exception to this rule, for some reason, is the "whump-whump-whump" beat of driving on a flat tire (that just makes me cuss). But hey, I can get down and boogie with pneumatic tools or an unbalanced load of laundry on spin cycle any day of the week!   :D

I know what you mean, Muffin.  I was always wrapped too tight to be able to dance well.

Still, I've always loved to dance.  I've taken lessons – ballroom and country swing and a few others – but don't remember enough to do it well.  I've done a lot of square and contra dancing.  Like Janet, I dance all over the house doing housework and sometimes dance in the store aisles when there's something catchy on the Muzak.

I've never danced with a male partner, though.  Hmmm.  That might be a project worth working on. ;)

If you want to do one of those formal dances, even Travolta then I would think you will need training.

But Put on some music you like, listen for the basic melody and imagine your body is part of the sound, moving with the melody.

It can be easier with your eyes shut at first.

Personally, I love the disco tunes of the 70s for this. But any music can do.

It probably won't win any prizes but it sure is fun. You really appreciate music better, especially the nuances you may not have noticed before, it lifts your mood big-time and it gets you so incredably fit.

I love to dance, formal (yeah, I took lessons), techno, disco, R&B (my fav) or just bopping to the band.  I love a night at a big dance club when I can walk out soaked in sweat, it feels so good.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

I dance like a female stripper or a male gogo dancer.

The heart beat, breathing and walking is more than enough rhythm to deal with. Man made music can never compete with the sound of the wind or rain. I will not shop in a store that plays music.

I do the same thing Virginia.  And it can be embarrassing if you are dancing in an empty elevator and the door opens, and there stands someone.
