Bobby Hebert will be the best-dressed man on Bourbon Street tomorrow.

The former Saints quarterback will be in a black and gold sequined dress, custom-designed and sent to him from New York by his daughter, Cammy Lynn, who describes it as "very Who-Dat-esque."

Ex-Falcon Hebert to wear dress in NO parade

Normally, a man in a dress is a non-story in New Orleans. Cross dressing isn't a taboo there; it's a tradition.

But Sunday will be a special day in gender confusion — a former NFL quarterback with 11 years in the league is scheduled to lead a large troupe of men in frills on a parade into the French Quarter. That's what Bobby Hebert gets for moving from Atlanta back to his home state.

"This thing has grown unbelievably," Hebert said earlier this week. "They were talking about hundreds of guys doing it. Including those who actually like to cross dress."

Why New Orleans Will Be Home to Thousands of Cross-Dressing Men on Super Bowl Sunday

The NFL is, more often than not, is known for its homophobic gaffes. For every Scott Fujita and Brendon Ayanbadejo, there's a Larry Johnson and a Coach Greg McMackin. But to celebrate its journey to Sunday's Super Bowl, the New Orleans Saints are giving a healthy nod to the cross-dressers in all of us: Former star quarterback Bobby Hebert will walk down Bourbon Street in New Orleans wearing a black-and-gold sequined dress made by his own daughter. Oh, and there will be thousands of other men just like him.

And you thought everything Super Bowl-related had to be anti-gay.

I'm going to haaave to go and take pictures of this event. Now I just need a visible trans-related shirt, and I'm good to go.

Still can't believe we made it to the Bowl, just wow. Thanks for posting this.
