I was 26 when I had my orchiectomy.  I was thrilled that they were gone, as it would help end my battle to fight the testosterone in my body.  I wasn't able to get Estrogen yet, so I just sat in limbo for the next few years.  Then one night, I woke up and I was shocked, scared and very very confused.  Before all of this happened, I better explain that I am 5'10 and weighed right around 135.  Thin, I know, but small boned and I was thrilled to be able to say I had a 26 inch waist and 35 inch hips.  I couldn't have been happier.  Anyway, all of a sudden, and I do mean quick, I jumped up in weight so fast I had/have stretch marks on my thighs and abs.  I went from a quaint 135 to 160 like in no time.  Does this happen because of the loss of hormones, or is there something else that had happened. Just a question, as I have not been ever able to get back to that weight, and now I am even heavier, and more depressed :(  Any ideas?

After mine, I gain some weight but it was nothing I was concerned with.  I wish that if I gain more, it goes to the hips and behind.

You might want to talk with your doctor and maybe get on a medically supervised weight loss program, because the Estrogen would help.  You are basically post menopause.

Your metabolism went to hell when you lost your testosterone. Also, women who have hysterectomies also gain a lot of weight in many cases. Your body *needs* fuel, estrogen or testosterone. You need medical assistance. Your bone density is also severely impacted by not having hormone levels within a healthy range.

weight = fat or water...look through your diet to find the culprit.
UK Prime Minister said she lost 20 pounds in one month by eating 20 eggs a week...

Yes, my doctor told me I lost a lot of bone mass too.  Specifically in my spine which is no good.  I am on some kind of hormones, but I am not sure what it is doing.  Doctor gave me testosterone shots, however, my body is converting that to estrogen, as my estrogen levels went thru the roof, and my testosterone is still low... Doctor is puzzled.  I just shrugged my shoulders.  Marked increase in breast development, no surprise since my estrogen levels are high.  Wonder if being on estrogen for a year earlier has told my body to manufacture it now?  Who knows... I just have a messed up body now.
