I find the new stickys very hard to use, having one long thread it's hard to follow/find what you're looking for.

I personally don't like them.  It's one thing to have a sticky with FAQ, links, etc that people can reference, but not for posting questions/answers.

Thirded.  Maybe they should be sub-forums instead?  Or make a sticky for reviews, but not for general discussion.  I think the intent is good, but it gets unwieldy as it is.

a subforum on each topic?
top surgery
bottom surgery
packies and stp
binding
hawt or not

doesn't sound too bad, alot easier for new users to search before posting (each subforum)

Agreed--subforums are the way to go.

I definitely agree with this. Subforums would be a lot neater and easier to use than one insanely long thread.  :) The big long one is a bit daunting to even think about poking around in.

Agree with all others- the subforums are cool even though I don't usually bother.

I still don't like the sticky Q&As.

I'll add in my vote for subforums.  Though a sticky in each subforum just for reviews might be helpful.

I agree with the subforums, it just feels like that if you post a question in the sticky, unless people go back or more than one person answers your question before someone else asks a new one, it is likely that your question will go unanswered.

Agreed. Just not into the stickies. They are going to get harder to follow as time goes on.

I don't think we need a subforum for each sticky. We don't have the posts / threads to support it. It's overkill.

Personally, I think subforums for

- Do I pass threads
- Hardware (Binders / packers / STP/ etc)

Should be sufficiant, given that we have surgery subforums already.

A subforum for equipment could be split up, but I'd really not split it up beyond "top" hardware and "bottom" hardware with the current usercount.

Too specific subforums can cause low new thread count. They stagnate, and people will stop checking them.

Too many subforums, people won't bother finding the correct section to post in (and it'll be chaos).

That's just my opinion, anyway.

That sounds great.

Yeah I agree with Teknoir.

Yeah, I think Teknoir's definitely right. It'd both simplify and organize things. Not too broken down, but broken down just enough. :)

Stickies tend to look more cluttered than several topics, particularly for 'general discussion on *topic*' imho
  •

Dante

I agree that a sub-forum would be better. The stickies just get way too long.

The reason stickies were created because the exact same questions would get asked again and again, bumping down topics with new questions, and then the topics with those answers would also get bumped down making for more repeat questions.

But I definitely see your points on the threads getting cluttered and I like the idea for a section on ftm hardware: packies, binders, etc. I think a new thread for anyone asking if they pass or not does clutter things up and usually if they do get bumped up the pics are old and not what the guys look like anymore. One thread really should be sufficient for that instead of a whole sub forum.

Alrighty guys the new section is up. I moved the threads in there and non-stickied them. Of course feel free to post more threads in the section I just haven't sorted out those 3 yet.

Like I said, I'm not going to make a section just for Do I Pass so I'm keeping that sticky. But the new FTM Gear section should cut down on a lot of the clutter.
