The Women's and Gender Studies Program at the University of South Carolina Upstate in Spartanburg will host the 3rd Annual Bodies of Knowledge Symposium March 18 and 19.

This year the symposium has been expanded to include a scholarly conference in addition to lectures by star quality LGBTQ scholars, artists, and activists. The organizers are inviting paper and panel proposals for presentations relating to the broad umbrella category of Queer Epistemologies and Phenomenologies and can cover a wide range of academic backgrounds including humanities, arts and social sciences but using concepts specific to philosophy.

(NB: conference will include a screening of a documentary on QueerHop/TransHop called "Pick Up the Mic.")
