Oscar winning actress Susan Sarandon has had a bad time of it lately. The actress recently separated from her long time partner, actor Tim Robbins. Sarandon attended the third anniversary of The Box in New York's Lower East Side.A

A transsexual cabaret performer named Rose Wood engaged in projectile vomiting on stage and hit Sarandon with it .

- As Gawker reported, last night at The Box's third anniversary party, ping-pong enthusiast Susan Sarandon got a special gift in the form of a lap full of vomit. By some stroke of luck, the messenger of the puke was Rose Wood, one of our favorite local cabaret performers. We caught up with Wood, who was about to drift off to sleep just as we rang, to find out what went down.

"[It was a] fitting time for an outrageous act: the third anniversary of The Box. Everybody wants to offer safe and ordinary, not The Box! So thank you Simon Hammerstein, Richard Kimmel and Raven O. I'm very grateful that they are choosing to give this to their clients. Many legendary Broadway, film, fashion and television people have told me that independent of whether or not they liked what I did, they were thrilled that the raw, untamed creative energy that they came to New York to find, hasn't been extinguished.

Wood explains that vomiting on people is fitting is this establishment. "[It was a] fitting time for an outrageous act: the third anniversary of The Box. Everybody wants to offer safe and ordinary, not The Box!"

And it's not the first time the transsexual performer has engaged in this kind of thing.

"I threw up on someone several weeks ago. They went to the manager and said, 'That ->-bleeped-<- just threw up on me.' The manager said, 'How cool is that!' He said if that happened to me, I'd call my friends and we'd all be there tomorrow!

Oh and they say the true theater is dead, how not true!  Come on, who among us has not seen some of Susan Sarandon's lesser movies and has not been moved to puke on her?
