hypocracy of the right

I'm just stepping in to say I like this misspelling.

Hypocracy [n. From ήπο- prep. and adv. 'under'+ κράτος 'rule, sway, authority']
1. Failure (as of a government or government official) to govern
2. Government by the unqualified (for example, the first 100 names in the Boston, Massachusetts, phone directory, Washington "outsiders," Sarah Palin, etc.) See William F. Buckley, Teabaggers, term limits, "starve the beast," Michael "Heckuva Job" "Brownie" Brown, George W. Bush

Okay, carry on! ;)
All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another.

It took two pages, but we got back to the alleged right to abortion on demand issue. Well, OK, I do support the right to an abortion when I and my doctor decide that is the correct treatment for me. I also support receiving proper counseling, hormone therapy, on-going medical care and assistance throughout my transition, and proper GRS surgery when the time comes. I also support the right to proper treatment for illness, proper care and needed surgery for heart problems, stroke, broken limbs, gout, ingrown nails, mental and emotional difficulties, and the hundreds of other medical issues people face. So I guess, yes, I support socialized health care for my country. Anything else is depraved indifference to millions of Americans, just as denying access to an abortion to millions of Americans is vicious moralizing by the facist wrong wingers. What the wrong wing has done for health care for eight years and much longer when they had the political power is NOTHING, except calling for restricting people's right to sue and receive damages for, well, damages.

Touchy much?

I made no argument here in favor of or against abortion, and it's pretty regrettable you are so obsessed with it that you can't read my remark in context.

I do not intend to discuss or debate abortion in this thread or on this board - I only made the point that even IF one sympathizes with the position that abortion should be regulated (and favoring regulation and reasonable restrictions is NOT being "anti-choice" by the way - there are reasonable restrictions on all sorts of medical procedures) the side effect on the political process was the injection of a lot of OTHER moralizing that was much less arguably the role of the federal government.

It's really not necessary to get on the soapbox about abortion - no one here is attacking it.

As to the rest of your point - well, I have resolved some time ago that I will not waste my breath on anyone who sees fit to call their political opponent a fascist. There are no fascists in this country at this time and I've observed that there is a direct inverse relationship between one's willingness to use the term and ones understanding of what the term means.

I'm afraid that this reply is too harsh, but no so harsh as going around calling people fascists.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that the idea of Ann Coulter being transgender is an idea perpetuated by trolls who get their lulz from it. She just looks like she "could be" and while she is a biological woman, this makes her an easy target.
If you do not agree to my demands... TOO LATE

Amanda Simpson's government appointment was denounced on loads of right-wing blogs.

there's a lot of unwise - and downright nutty - things said on lots of blogs on both sides.

i hope we are not defining the mainstream of either side by the most troubling things we find on blogs.
