i've heard that 80% of males born with klinefelter's have the chromosome set of XXY, but then there's another 20% who have just XY. i think i'm one of them. is there a way to find out for sure? i had a karyotype years ago, and they said my chromosomes were normal, but i have lots of the symptoms of klinefelter's. i can really identify with it. is there another test?

Its the opposite. Some of the person born with XXY might develop the Klinefelter's Syndrome. Which can cause some feminization like gynomastia and also reduced fertility due to small gonads.

What symptoms have you detected?

If you are XY you do not have Klinefelter's syndrome. End of story.

Some of XXY people have Klinefelter's syndrome.

pretty much everything, except for a few things which are mental, but it could be 5 alpha reductase deficiency as well.

small penis (3 inches) long limbs, tall (5'10 1/2) wide hips, fat distribution in female areas, femenine face, voice has only changed a little but not as much as males, low energy, overweight, and low muscle tone which has been affecting me my whole life, and was noticed by some people. i do have a learning disability and social interaction difficulties (aspergers) i've been on medication for depression for years. there's always some genius in the picture who is rude to me, and tells me i'm just not, or it's "late puberty," but at least you are listening.

Any breast development? Do you have an adams apple?

Also, have you already started HRT? Because if you are intersex the dosages are kind of different.

The best thing its to know whats going on with your own body and then you can work with that info.

oh yeah, i have breast development, and it's prominent. it's smaller, but it's still distinct. i also have round shoulders. they are wider than most females, but that's just how my body fame has always been. i have hips about equal to my shoulders. it doesn't take much for me to pass. in fact, i've been called ma'am before when i was in my androgynous period. i still am, but people take me as male most of the time. i do not have an adams apple. everyone does, but mine is very small, and you do not see any bump at all. i have not started hrt. last time i had my blood tested was in february of this year. my testosterone was 266 ng/dl. i don't remember exactly what my estradiol was. they had it measured in decimals. i think it was 17 point something, and also, i am taller than the average adult male, especially for my age. i'd say i'm about done growing, but 5'10 1/2 or 5'11 is still above the male average, and most of that height is noticeable with my legs. my arms are longer than my torso, about down to the middle of my thighs. one more thing, i have pretty weak bone development. i get enough calcium in my diet, but my bones are small. i noticed this especially with my hands. my knuckles are barely there, and i have little finger strength.

Maybe the karotype test results were wrong? Or maybe the doctor is just plain lying. Sadly you can't trust doctors these days.
