Well I didn't get on my course...pah! Though I was thinking of deferring anyway to deal with the on going trials and tribulations of just being me, so it's probs for the best. Almost had another panic attack at work and to top it all off despite the fact I shaved three days ago dammit! my face erupted in an attack of shaving rash and I've felt disgusting and male pretty much all day.

I hate being me some days.

Hang in there.  There is no timetable.  Sometimes life gets in the way of dealing with our issues.  I feel way too male some days, too.  (It disgusting! :icon_blah:)

For me, I had to get my head on straight before I could deal with becoming Kate.  I hope it doesn't take you as long as it did me.  Just do what you need to.  Be gentle with yourself.  You can't expect to make progress every day.

It takes time to get the ball rolling.  But once it does, then it doesn't stop.  Kate is right about life getting in the way.  Dadburnit.

But on another note if you are having shaving rash you are ether going over the area too much, or pressing to hate.  Also try using Aloe Vera gel afterward.

Hang in there girl, it is coming really quick.

We all have our down days... sometimes they last for a whole week or more

But don't give up

I often feel like cryin' and/or singin' the blues and that no-one could give a rat's ass about me

But then someone steps up and it all changes

Life has it's up and downs... When your up enjoy it... When your down... Maybe it's time to make new plans or just hold tight awhile

In any case... Do not quit, give up and/or ring the bell
The main things to remember in life are Love, Kindness, Understanding and Respect - Always make forward progress

Superficial fanny kissing friends are a dime a dozen, a TRUE FRIEND however is PRICELESS

Thanks girls. feel a lot better this morning. not getting the place at university was a blow, but it means one less thing to worry about while the ball gets rolling. I will be reapplying next year...hopefully as Helena, but we'll see how far things go in the mean time.

As for shaving it has always been the bane of my life...I'm a delicate little flower and have always had sensitive skin...the amount of care I take is ridiculous, stupidly hot water, flannel to the face, change the bladed regularly and really sensitive shaving cream....think it's an oat milk base with lots of essential oils and stuff. even with all that i can still get shaving rash and always have a 5 o'clock shadow even after shaving. So not going to miss that and in fact can't wait to start getting rid of it.

I understand completely, I am...repulsed by body hair (not just the face, but that is the worst) and I always had problems when I shaved, I even tried to have a bit of a beard before since I didn't want to deal with shaving it... but I just wanted to rip that thing off my face.

Over the past few years I have done so much researching and work towards finding solutions for it... and now I can see that, it is at least possible to never have to shave again and while that is a long way off for me it really gives me hope.

You know, I have been thinking once every couple of months I really have a down day (usually from something like a 'warrant in debt' Virginia's ultra cool way to harass those who have no money to death). I consider myself upbeat but, some days I really question that I keep a loaded .45 in my safe...

In any case, I think it is wonderful that you are doing better today, hopefully it will be a while before you have to deal with another 'down day'.

Rock_chick,
Until you get Laser/Electro, have you considered shaving in the shower? I've got a little mirror that hangs on a suction cup. It works *so* much better then shaving after you get out.
Just a suggestions. :)

I hope things get better for you soon! Keep smiling and remember to moisturize!! :D

I tried that, but I have the eyes of a bat in the mid day sun so always leave little tufts. face is better, exfoliation and moisturising seem to be doing the trick.
