It's funny how those of us who have had sex reassignment surgery say we are virgins again until we have sex. In fact, we are "born" with a stent inside our vagina, and as soon as that's removed we're pushing in more stents. We don't have time to be virgins!

For those who don't know, a stent is any medical device that holds something open. For instance, in certain cardiac operations, a stent is used to keep an arterial wall from collapsing. For those who have had SRS, we dilate—enlarge—the vaginal canal with stents (sometimes called dilators) inserted periodically in order to keep the walls of the vagina from collapsing and to maintain depth.
