There is a surgeon near where I live whose costs are $5,000.  However, I don't see any point in my future where I would be able to afford all of that at once.  I am also unable to apply for the CareCredit card, and loans are not going to be a possibility for me.

I know that you get what you pay for, so I'm not looking to go cheap at the cost of quality, so I would be willing to wait a little while and try and save up for it.  If I could get a doctor who would take payments, however, that would be most preferable.

What surgeon is charging $5000 and for what?

And I don't know of any surgeon that will do the surgery and then wait to get paid.  You might find out if you can make payments and then have the surgery.

That one was for gynecomastia.

I'll be sure to ask around and do that.  Never heard of a surgeon accepting prior payments either, but that's worth a shot, and more realistic.

Most doctors do not accept payments as they have no way to force you to pay - IE they can't repo your operation.  And if you can't get a credit card/loan/line what makes you think the doctor won't run the same kind of credit check?
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

Dr. Charles Garramone is $5,700 and can take half and then let you pay the other half by 2 weeks  prior to surgery

Most docs I have had without insurance, let me pay ahead until it was paid, or at least agreed to. Often it got eaten by some urgent need.

I asked one of the people at Southcenter Medical in Seattle if I could pay ahead, since I wanted to go with them anyway.  They said that they do that a lot and let their patients just pay as they go along, since many of their patients can't afford to pay it all in one go or get financial assistance.  So thanks for the people who suggested that some do that...
