After a long period of my transition progress being at a standstill things are finally starting to happen!

I have an appointment with Dr.Curtis on the 6th of April and I've had blood work done to take to him so it should be pretty easy to get my T on informed consent.

My GP has agreed to support me once Dr. Curtis has done all the initial assessments and given me the go ahead for T.

I'm so happy ;D

One question though, does anyone think it would be a good idea to get a letter or something from my past employers saying I was always known to them as a guy etc in order to prove I've been through a long period of RLE? It says it has to be "documented" and this is the only way I can think of proving I've done it, other than the fact all my records already have my new name and gender.

If your ID has transitioned (has a dudes name) that IS documentation.
Good Luck and I hope all goes well for you at the Dr.s Office.

If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

as long as your name change documents have a date on them then they count as your RLE. Dr curtis requires a minimum 3months RLE, as outlined in the Standards of Care.

Congrats!  And I'd say it wouldn't hurt to get those letters.  The more prepared you are the less likely there will be any snafu.

My deed poll is dated 20th of November 2008, I have bank details in my new name, my unemployment benefits are in my new name, my doctors records are in my new name (although the doctors still insist on using "miss" instead of "mr" ... everyone else switched over to "mr" with no trouble) - so this should be enough proof ;D

Yeah, easily enough documentation. All he'll do is make a photocopy of your deed poll. Also if your deed poll says Mr then you can insist that the doctors change it to that. They have no legal rights to keep it as Miss.

this is what i said =[ my old doctor was fine with it but they argued with me and said im still a girl so legally still miss blah blah and they'll change it when I've transitioned. Not in the mood to argue yet, I'll bug them again once I get my letter from Dr. Curtis. Don't want to annoy them too much while they've agreed to help with prescriptions and stuff.
