Close your eyes. Now think of a queer Smithie. Does your Smithie wear dresses? Have long hair? High heels? Chandelier earrings? Is she a math major? If you feel as I do, your typical queer Smithie has short hair and some facial piercings, rocks the skinny jeans and not the skirts and is a SWAG major - although I am not saying that all SWAG majors are queer or that SWAG is not an important discipline.

While I fully support all gender and style expression and the right to wear what one pleases, I feel that this is a very butch/androgynous-friendly queer community that isn't as open to those of us who love girls, but who also love our long hair, dresses that show off our curves and math, psychology, Italian or basically any major other than the study of women and gender. Where is our place within the queer community at Smith?

Interesting, considering that few here have the grades to get into Smith, much less the money.

Here, being here, where few of the FtMs have enough for the T shots, or the therapy, much less the $50K per year that Smith charges.  And I'm not even going to get into the grades which are pretty much the top .5% of the country, and that's not from public schools.

I don't know what FTMs have to do with going to a women's college, but I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss who does or doesn't have the grades to get into a place like that.

It's a world so ratified that most would never even glimpse it, much less be a part of it.  It's hardly mainstream.  It's people who would pay millions for a wedding, because that's just an investment.

I don't really know what you're talking about now.
