CHENNAI: A welfare board set up by the Tamil Nadu Government might have helped transgenders in the State to establish their identity.

"Society does not support us and that is one of the reasons why many transgenders end up as beggars and prostitutes," said Sandhya. This transgender was quick to mention that media, especially films, portrayed transgenders in a bad way.
