Clint Eastwood has set the wheels in motion to direct a new biopic about the FBI's controversial figure, J. Edgar Hoover.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the director of Unforgiven is joining with Imagine Entertainment,  which was originally developed at Universal.

The script is written by screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, who is best known for Milk, which earned 8 Academy Award nominations in 2009, including an Oscar for 'Best Writing' for a screenplay.
