Hi everyone! I've been a reader for a while, but finally decided to make an account.

I had a really great day today, I got my first prescription for female hormones! I've been on an anti-androgen for 3 months now. I'm not full-time but I've gone out as female several times now, I can pass in public since I'm young (20 years old), although I rather of been born a girl, gotta find the positives where I can :).

I came out to my family 5 months ago and everyone has been very accepting. I was so scared, but it all worked out, I feel very lucky, not everyone is as fortunate. My mom and me are actually closer now, I don't have to hide things, oh and we also talk about make-up and clothes  ;D.

It's been a year since I first told a therapist about how I felt about my gender. It has felt like such a crazy journey so far, doctors, secrets, depression, tears, but for once in my life I feel like I'm going in the right direction. I know I got a lot ahead of me, but I feel like "I can do this!", it's a nice feeling.

Sorry if I rambled, I'm just excited today  :). I want to thank you guys, coming here to read your stories, and advice really helped me over the past few years.

Welcome to Susan's, Katelyn.  :icon_flower:

There's a lot of good information and good people here.  Each of our stories is unique but we have a lot in common.  Settle in, pull up a keyboard, and explore.

Be sure to look under the Announcements heading.  There you will find the rules we live by in this little world of ours: "Site Terms of Service and Rules to Live By", "Standard Terms and Definitions", and "Post Ranks".  Look through the other stuff there, too.

I'm really happy for you that things are going so well.  Having an accepting family is gift.

I know what you mean.  It is a wonderful feeling. ;D

Happy exploring. :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 4200 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister. :icon_hug:
