The NSW Attorney-General John Hatzistergos has denied he directed the state's registrar to revoke documents officially recognising Redfern resident Norrie as the first person in Australia as neither male nor female.

Questioned by NSW Greens MP Lee Rhiannon in Parliament on Thursday, John Hatzistergos said: "At no time did I ... make any direction to the registrar in relation to the decision that he took".
