Can The Transgender Community Afford Infighting? NO!

This leads me to the fact that Transgender people have needs that are important to them but may seem silly for the cisgender community. Once these needs are explained to the cisgender community, they are usually easier to accept.

Lately, there has been some conversation about this or that group not wanting to be included as Transgender for various reasons. The oppressor wants this is the type of infighting. If we as Transgender people cannot work together in solidarity, the cause for equality is lost. There is no need for being judgmental of other's Transgender status. True Transgender advocates avoid elitism and social status constructs like the plague.

Infighting and elitism is the last thing we need. Transgender people have a difficult road to hoe as it is.

Regrettably, internecine squabbling is endemic among nearly all groups, as the various factions posture and scheme in order to validate their place in some arbitrarily perceived "pecking order", almost always at the expense of others.

The T community is no exception, alas, although we are surely among those who can least afford it.
