Does the Census Ignore Trans People?
By Advocate.com Editors

Writing for The Progressive Media Report, Kalil Cohen argues that the 2010 census shortchanges transgender people by not allowing them to identify as anything other than male or female.

"The reality is that there are not only two sexes, but these are still the only two options on the 2010 census form," Cohen writes. "This leaves people who fall outside the categories of 'male' or 'female' unable to identify themselves on the census.

I'm just checking female and writing in "transgender" on the side. They have my phone number if they can't sort it out.

I just checked "female". Genetically accurate or not, I doubt it'll affect their gerrymandering.

Where I live, in an RV park, they come around for the census.  The lady knock on my door, and was asking the questions.  As she got to the gender section, she looked up and said "Female Obviously".  We finished the interview and went on about our business.  I smile to myself, "Female Obviously".

I thought about drawing a box and checking other since I'm non binary, but I was concerned that it would be thrown out so I checked F, since I'm more F than M. I'd ordered a Queer the Census sticker weeks ago, but it hadn't arrived yet, so I sent it in without it.
