I started presenting full time as a woman a couple of months before I actually went full time but always had a phobia of wearing a skirt (in public). This weekend I went dancing with a girl I work with and she asked me if I was ever going to start wearing skirts. So this morning I figured what the hell. Glad I did! I fleetingly pass as a female so people do double takes, stare, etc all the time and I figured well, I get stares anyways!

To me this is another milestone I have crossed. Yippee!

So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

Good for you Dana.  We were discouraged from wearing skirts or dresses at my old job.  We had to climb ladders and do heavy lifting.  A little embarrassing to due in a skirt, anyway.

Yeah... where I work it'd be completely impractical to wear heels or a skirt/dress. So I'm wearing the same clothes I always wore since I've worn womens' casuals at work for years. Well, plus a bra.

I'm glad your work was accepting of it and it was a good experience for you, even though I hate skirts. :)

I remember how exciting and rewarding it was, to finally be seen in clothes at work that match heart and body. To finally show a figure and legs with clothes that clearly say, I am a woman, a beautiful woman ...without apology or compromise. Of course it is a milestone. You have arrived, don't underestimate the statement it makes to yourself and to them. You are beautiful and proud and stand tall in your skirt. You have not only crossed the milestone, but you have blown the doors off their hinge. You are there, good for you.

Such nice words to describe it! Thank you!!!

Congradulations!!!! I remember the first time I wore a suit. It was the greatest feeling on the planet. Oh so comfortable!

In aviation terms that would be called breaking the skirt barrier!

Fun ain't it?

Congratulations Dana!

breaking the skirt barrier!
There's an inappropriate joke in those words, I'm sure of it.

Way to go girl!  Now you have to go dancing in it!

You keep going girl!
Well done, that must have been scary the first time.

I love wearing skirts, I like the feel of them, how they move, how they make your hips look, how they flare out when you twirl, how you have to hold some of them down on windy days, bare legs in the breeze. Just brings me a sense of pleasure for some reason.
