Oops...had a little bit of an accident today. I was *ahem* researching a piece for a blog I do occasional articles for and somehow the credit card slipped out and I bought this.

Which is ok...I need a new bag anyway, my current one is almost falling apart...well that's the excuse I'm sticking to. hehe

anyone else had an accident with a credit card recently?

I don't see the point in credit cards.  Spend money I don't have?  Sounds like a terrible idea.  I'll stick with a bank account and a debit card.

Using a debit card is a horrible mistake. If you get hit with theft/identity theft, they drain your actual cash. It's much harder and more inconvenient to deal with all of that than with disputed charges on a credit card.

And why would you spend money you don't have?

Plus if you hit desperate times, you can juggle debit and credit. With debit, you're just screwed.

How about every time I go to the mall? lol There's this awesome little Bohemian clothing shop called "Tree of Life" that has the most awesome skirts, tops, wraps, jewelry, bags... I know better, but all I have to do is walk near that store and I'm irresistibly drawn inside... I think with all the gypsy clothes there must be a gypsy spell on that place that sucks little unsuspecting fairies right in...  :-\

Nothing wrong with using a card for rewards points and paying it off every month ;)

Meh, I suppose there's a different take on CC's in the NA and EU (not sure about the other continents). Personally I don't own a CC, mainly because the deals 'round here aren't that good and working for the Debt, Fraud and Dispute credit card departments for various banks I've pulled the 'skeptic card'..

However, I do tend to go 'ooh *click*' with paypal every now and then and ended up purchasing a new kendama...

Well my credit card and I have a very close relationship. She is a nervous girl who is reluctant to go shopping and terrified of buying cute things. So I've been trying aversion therapy for some time. I take her by the hand into a cute shop and say "See this is a really cute bra and just me size, don't you want to buy it for me?" She usually breaks down and says "Yes Mistress, please don't make me a Sub" So I say "No problems little girl, you can buy me a handbag to go with my new bra" Silly credit card falls for it. "Oh dear, now I have a bra and a handbag, you'd better get me a skirt blouse and shoes, Oh I need some makeup as well, and yes we should go back for the matching brief". Sobbing I take her home. "Please Mistress don't take me out to buy knew ear rings to go with the clothes you bought today," she whines.  'Hush, darling" I reply, gently placing her into a pillow of soft purse leather, " If you don't like it, I can always cut you in half" "Ahhhh", Mistress and card scream

I've taken to hanging out in a used book shop, which for the child of a professional writer is quite monetarily risky indeed. There are gnarled old men there, though, who like to sit around in easy chairs and discuss things while wiggling their bushy eyebrows, and I just can't keep myself away.

My debit card always seems to fall out when I am near C18th novels and cute pyjamas. I also became the owner of a boatswain's call.
