Well, I decided to call a therapist I was hooked up with thanks to a social worker who is part of a local LGBT support group. I called the therapist and explained her my situation, and, although she sounded kinda selfish (or maybe I'm confusing her tone lol) she's willing to help me.

I arranged an appointment for May 7th at 6pm.... enough time to think about everything regarding to this situation and save money for the first session (it usually costs around $60 dollars each session but she's going to give me a 50% discount, maybe more if things go right lol) and well... this is gonna be SO exciting! omg I'm so glad I got this opportunity :P

Can anyone give me any recommendation about the way I should talk to her and what am Ï supposed to expect from the first session? this psychologist is specialized with gender issues so that's a HUGE plus!

Just be yourself and be honest.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

Yes, just be yourself.  Be honest.  And if you feel comfortable enough, go into the session dressed as yourself.  But don't do it if you feel don't safe.  It took me three or four sessions before I went to therapy dressed as myself.

She is not going to be judging you to see if you are "trans" enough.  Though she will be interested in your feelings about being trans.  And whether or not you have an understanding of the tasks and issues involved.

The first session is usually all about background.  Your history and major events and things that have lead you to this point.  Following that will be discussions about how to deal with issues such as acceptance and tasks involved with going forward.

That is awesome news hun. Having just started counselling my self, you best bet is to just be yourself and to just go with the flow of things. My sessions can go all over the place, and it's often not just about the gender stuff as well.

So big yay! for you hun and a couple of victory hugs *hugsx2*, you will find that it helps loads and loads and loads. ;D
