wait... now that I think about it, isn't the multiplayer system in MW2 exactly the same as the one in Left 4 Dead? i don't know if anyone else have noticed this, but I wasn't sure until I played online with some friends last night...

PC + Emulation + Open Source + Abadonware = All you need in a console.  So yes, PC.

Pee-See, although not by much choice.

It just occurred to me, I still have to finish Super Mario, the NES power thing melted at level 8-something.

My favorite console is Xbox 360, but I'd prefer PC to that any day :3

I am surprised 'Other' Is ahead in the polls right now aside from emulate 360 or ps3 games well what can't a PC do?

My PC is only of modest spec:
Phenom x3, 2gb ram, Ati Radeon hd2600 512mb, X-box 360 controller
running on Ubuntu 9.10 built from minimal (Running KDE 4.4.3 default these days) as default and occasionally Win XP x64 or 32 SP3

I can play Castlevania: SOTN (via PCSX-Reloaded), and when I tire of a platformer, I can play Chronotrigger (Zsnes) and when I need senseless button mashing, I can Dynasty Warriors 6 (Windows) and then play a bit of Crusin' USA (mupen 64) and when I bore of cars, I can fire up Dune2 (DOSemu) and play at a bit of strategy. That and when I am playing Final Fantasy VIII I can save state right in the middle of battle, no need to finish my boss fight in one sitting.

The only problem with the PC as a gaming platform is that the triggers work funny on the X-box 360 controller, who on earth decided those things would be such a bizarre axis rather than buttons really needs to be shot.
15 years on Susans, where has all the time gone?

My favorites have always been the Nintendo portables (Gameboys, and now the DS), primarily because I'm a Pokemon addict, but also because I rarely play video games unless I'm bored out of my skull, and one of my most common places to play games happens to be in the car (because it's difficult to read and near impossible to draw or write while in a moving vehicle). For that matter, vacations in general are my biggest gaming-time of the year, and I can't really be bothered to lug my entire Gamecube with me on vacation. it's just not worth the trouble. x3;

...as far as non-portable consoles go, though, Gamecube is my console of choice, at least until they decide to release something noteworthily Pokemon-related for the Wii-- i.e. unless they release a sequal to Pokemon Snap or a really good 3D rpg to teh effect if XD Gale of Darkness, I'm just sticking with my good ol' Gamecube. I have Pokemon games and a representative handful of Sonic the Hedgehog for when I'm in the mood for some fast-paced stress relief. That's sufficient for my video game needs. |D

I play alot on my NDS lately, before then, I went through a PSP phase, but altogether I own TOO many consoles of different types:

Classic Gameboy
Gameboy Advance
Gameboy Advance SP [limited edition Zelda gold edition]
Nintendo DS Lite [gave my original NDS to my mum xD]
PSone
PS2
PS3
PSP
Sega Master System
Sega Mega Drive
and of course, my trusty PC. :D

Could be more, I dont remember, alot of the oldies are collecting dust, unfortunately, although, I do revisit them from time to time to keep them ticking over. xD

Definitely the Wii.  I never could get past all the buttons on anything more than the original nintendo.

You sound like my dad! xD He struggles with all the buttons. xD For ages, he was only able to use a joystick for the Sega Master System xD

My favorite modern platform is the Wii. When it comes to vintage models my favorites are the Atari I had when I was a kid (playing games like Pong and Frogger), the The Sega Gensis when I was a little older especially playing Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Nintendo and being addicted to Super Mario Brothers and Legend of Zelda.

Well I really like the Sega Genesis (my first system and all), but I think PS2 takes the cake, mainly cause most of my games I have are on there.

I've been through quite a few different gaming consoles, (Playstation, Gameboy, Gameboy Advanced, Nintendo DS, Playstation 2, Xbox 360), so far my favourite is the XBox 360. It has plenty of good games, and I love it's capabilities.

PC - More versatile in every single aspect than any gaming console can dream to be.

Not to mention, I can do more than just game on it.

PC. Nowadays I pretty much only play the stuff put out by Bethesda and Bioware, and since I already have a decent computer, I don't feel any great need to buy a console. I do own a Wii, but it hasn't seen any play lately.

Of course, any game that doesn't involve pencils, paper and dice is hardly worth the name at all ;D .

As someone who knows basically everything there is to know about games, I can easily say the.. Dreamcast.

The Dreamcast was just.. So... Awesome. A lot of the good games were JPN only though

I heard that a good number of Dreamcast games are going to be rereleased on a combo disc for xbox360, and maybe another format that I can't remember at the moment...

I try to collect game consoles and the Dreamcast is on my list since it's rare and supposedly a good system. I just don't have the cash whenever I spot one of kijiji though.

What's the earliest gen gaming platform you've played on?

I choose you PS3!  At least for this generation.  I'm pretty much a gamer though, so if something can play games...I'm going to use it!

I mostly play on the 360, though I also have a Wii and a PC.
