Just been looking through hair removal items so i can start on my slow but sure way to becomming the inner me and i come across the braun epilators

i cant really see a reason why a 20 tweezer is £30 cheaper than a 40 tweezer model both made by braun, is there any real difference? im only planning to mow the legs and possible the chest if i feel daring enough.

Although im not very good with razors so i put my old recharged battery shaver to use granted it is designed for a face but it trims the hairs short enough that it doesnt nick or cut my legs and doesnt give me itchy stubble or razor burn or the worst yet i have a tendancy to cut myself.

Due to cutting myself i gave up in the past of trying to razor it off and just used my old mens electic razor, didnt see why it wouldnt work the leg hair tends to be a little less coarse :) but now i feel i need to pluck them out with an epilator to keep the legs as clear as possible.

Braun Silk-Epil Soft Perfection Epilator is the model i am interested in

is this decent enough for a first time user looking for mainly if any one has used this particular one and if it is good enough with durability of lasting its ability to remove hairs i am on a limited budget so getting anything over the £40 price range is out of the question :(.

Or any other decent realiable epilators that you can suggest to use, i done google searchs for reviews but having to sift through thousands of pages of the information is a little time consuming when i can easily just ask here :)

Thank you for any information or suggestions on epilators.

I enjoy my Panasonic ES2025, which is a 3-in-1 product. It has modular head units that allow you to change the function of the device. It was $45, which is what like £25 I think. I like that has variable speeds and the electric shaver head that comes with it isn't bad either. IIRC it comes with a 32 tweezer epilation head.

I honestly have never user a Braun epilator, I used an expensive Epilady and that seemed to be about the same as my Panasonic. I know some of the cheaper units don't work too well, but I haven't used one of them.

15 years on Susans, where has all the time gone?

Thank you for the suggestion, it seems that epilator is either not sold in the UK or is an older model all i could find was a ES2027 which didnt seem to do as much as the one you said did.

Spent the last few hours searching places that sold braun ones and then done some specific reviews on if they were decent and would last a while.

Im still open though to other makes and models but for the moment is seems braun is the market leader with the very good epilator or at least for the UK that seems to be the case.

epilators...painful, but infinitely better than the hedgehog legs that are the result of shaving.

quite true i sadly itch like mad when i use a razor and i always cut myself with being over weight just nicking the obese mark bits of skin is a pain on the legs to actually shave without nicking or cutting.

my girl friend thinks i wont be able to put up with an epilator but im more than willing to live with the pain from it if it means i dont have to cut my legs again when i try to razer them and considering waxing is a bit more expensive for the men if you can get it done the prices are £20+ mnore at some places due to ammount of hair which doesnt make it suitable.

Although im wondering how on earth to get my bottom and back done i may have to give in and get those waxed but only after i have the legs, chest and belly under control, maybe then the pubic region but i dont feel daring enough to go too close to the genitals i have right now with it meaning very close to the vege stick tweezing its bad enough im using little scissors to trim the hair as im paranoid about slicing the other bits open.

But im sure i can make a little landing strip out of it and epilate the bits safer around it worth a try though  :o

im also considering getting an epilator... was just wondering im more prone to ingrown hair (i have curly hair) rather then cuts and when i shave i tend to get razor bumps and with warmer weather approaching im in need of something.... im just wondering has it caused ingrown hairs or razor burns on other people?

I have a panasonic too

and my ex had a slightly older model of this one, which I used a lot

I like the panasonic because I can use it in the bath and its cordless.  It is also less painful.  I don't like it because when the battery dies you can't continue to use it plugged in.  The braun works way better and is way more painful.  I really like the built in light, and it never dies half way through the second leg.

Seems to me like this could be the best of the features in the 2 that I have used.

I bought a silkepil xelle last week, but I haven't used it many times yet. It comes with a pair of massage rollers for pain relief. I'm not so sure it relieves anything but it does distract from anticipating the next "pull".

I've gotten through about a quarter of one thigh, and the pain has been survivable, about the same as getting a tattoo. Not looking forward to the inside thigh though.
