Cassandra drove her brand new Corvette Convertible out of Portland. Taking off up I-5 towards Seattle, She pushed it to 80 mph, enjoying the wind blowing through her blonde hair. 'Amazing,' she thought as she flew up the highway pushing the pedal even more. Looking in his rear view mirror, she saw the state trooper behind her, blue lights flashing and siren blaring.
Cass floored it to 100 mph, then 110, then 120. Suddenly she thought, 'What am I doing? I'm too old for this!' and she pulled over to await the trooper's arrival.
Pulling in behind her, the trooper walked up to the Corvette, looked at his watch and said, 'Lady, my shift ends in 30 minutes. Today is Friday. If you can give me a reason for speeding that I've never heard before, I'll let you go.'
Cass paused for a minute, and then said, 'Ten years ago, my Husband ran off with a Washington Highway Patrolman, and I thought you were bringing him back.'
'You have a good day, Madam,' replied the trooper, and walked away.
