Spironolactone ; Thin Hair... Need Thick Hair

I been having thin hair for about a year now, and I believe it is because of the accutane I was on when I was turning 17...  Basically it's probably not male pattern baldness... I hope, but I think most of the hair is stuck in Telogen effluvium. It's itchy too, and I am getting worried it will get worse. And when it was long, it was ugly looking. I used to have really thick hair.

Would spironolactone, somehow make my hair thicker, in general?

Maybe Finasteride or Dutasteride would help, but seek medical advice.

I think you need to talk to a dermatologist. If it is Telogen effluvium then you might also see it in all your nails too. Also if it is this then it will be self correcting in time.

Sprio could help with MPB, but if it is not that then probably not.

one thing which no one has mentioned is that on the average female each individual hair is a lot finer and more delicate than a male equivalent thus as your tetstosteone levels drop the individual hairs will thin out - it's not hair LOSS - the hair is ALL still there but because the individual strands are finer it looks as though you have lost some volume. I've had that problem for years. I have plenty of hair on my head but it is very fine like a young childs hair and so lays very flat unless I give it some serious styling.

The plus side is that you certainly wont get MPB!
