Hi, my name is Seth, I'm 19 years old.
I have a brother named Zack, he is almost 18 now, The only problem is, he was born in the body of a girl.
I always saw him as a brother cause that's how I accepted him
I'm sending this topic on this forum because I'd like to help my brother to get what he wants, A double mastectomy and testosterone treatment.
My brother is going through the worst depression I have ever seen, and is close to commit suicide, it worries me a lot but I know he can't help it.
He has been to a psychiatrist to quite a while now and got his name changed to Zack in September 2009, only thing is its not official on his ID yet, but what's more important is that he must be happy with the right body, I know I can't do much to help him but I don't give up, I would do whatever it takes to help him out.
He would like to get his Mastectomy and Testosterone Treatments paid by the NHS, only thing is they are working too slow and making him wait longer, and my brother can't wait any longer, because he is so close to end it all, and that's the last thing I want, I want to bring hope to my brother, also I know he can get his treatments private but they cost a lot and they put you on a waiting list.

So I'm wondering if there is anybody that can give me advice if there is any other way he could get his treatments, or anybody I could talk to that went through the same problem as my brother so I could receive more information on how they done it.

So please, if anyone could give me more information, I would be very grateful so I could help my brother, and make him happy, cause that's all I ever wanted, to see my brother smile.

Thank you

Your Faithfully

Seth

Glad you are there for your brother. I don't live in the UK but I'm sure someone from there will show soon. It may help your brother to visit if not join this site. It often helps to know your not alone in what you go through.

as far as I know about the NHS, it's a matter of poking at the GIC until they get off lazy butts and approve treatment (although surgery funding is a different matter then HRT).
Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur. Happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr, purr, purr.

I'm in the uk but at the minute i'm going thro the NHS route so don't know a lot about private i'm afraid. There have been posts and threads here about going private tho. I think if you google Dr Richard Curtis you'll come up with something and DR Dai DAvies. Also ftmnetwork.org
