Amy, I'm new to this board (Hi all) and have only communicated with Brassard's office via e-mail with Ms. Degre. She sent me attachments that included the following data:

The total for the surgery, anesthesia, hospitalization, transportation to and from the airport, medication for your return at home and residence is 18,040$ Canadian money. Once a date has been set for the surgery, you must send a 1 000$ u.s. deposit for GRS within the following 21 days after reception of your confirmation or the date will not be reserved. 8 weeks before surgery, we will ask for a second deposit of 1 500$ cdn money.   The balance will be payable one month before surgery.   All payments must be made in cash, certified check or bank draft to C.C.E.S.J. for Dr Ménard and to GESTION ELIJEAN for Dr Brassard. If you want to consult prior your surgery, the fee will be 50$ cdn. This will be deducted from the total amount at the time of the surgery.

You've come so far, don't let administrative details derail you! This journey is fraught with emotion for all of us, and you're entitled to be frustrated. Take a deep breath, collect your thoughts and do what you need to do.

Yes, I received the same document.  In the quoted text and the document itself I didn't see an ADDRESS.  I wouldn't blindly assume that for this kind of money (especially for international reasons etc)

I consider it a notable omission, and worthy of double checking.

Which is why I asked for a confirmation.  In return I received a terse and rude reply.

I also asked several other more important questions that were also ignored.  They did not meet my expectations on a very basic level and I do not trust his practice to perform my surgery (and followup).  I admit to some degree I'm going with my intuition, but it's gotten me this far and I trust it.

Amy you are beautiful for starters, next even if you do a simple site check or google youll see that the clinic address (hospital) is 995 de salaberry in Montreal QC. The documentation I would agree is a little odd, but I would e-mail info@grsmontreal.com as they will give an in depth better detail where to send it.

With Renate's suggestion I wouldn't remove Brassard out of the equasion since you might have a better environment POST OP to be in.

Just an update, I ended up having a really nasty consultation with McGinn and rescheduled with Brassard.  Turns out I really just trust the man with my life based on everything I have heard.

I'm leaving Montreal in a couple days and I'm glad I came here for several reasons.  If any others have trouble navigating his office don't interpret it as a lack of concern on their part.  The office problems I had did not translate to care issues.  They have been great here.

Something on my mind for the weeks ahead, how in the heck am I going to graduate to a #3 dilator, yikes!

Actually, #3 is pretty easy. I just started today and after a month with #1 and #2 it gets it nice and ready. However, the staff made a mistake when writing the numbers on the bottom of mine and when I went for #3 I accidentally picked what really was #4 (but they wrote #3 on it). There I was trying to stick it in...it was NOT going in.

After like 5 minutes of trying I finally double checked and noticed two number 3's. Arg! After that experience, what you should be worried about is trying to get that big, honkin' #4 in. That thing is crazy huge!

Also, I have a question. How is your BA healing coming along? Is it pretty much at a point where it's not as bothersome anymore, or is it still going to take more time until things get easier with that? I ask because I may be looking into a BA later this year and would love to know what to expect.

I used to admire those big #4 guys, silly me! Now I see them in a new light and might run for my life if I happen to see one someday, hah, hah (I'm only half joking, it'll be more like no way). I may have to find me a #1 or #2  boyfriend.

Actually #4 will be nothing to you in a couple of months, youll want something as large as #10 (Thanks Renate) Tehehehe.

I wonder if the nurses have a special technique to help you when it comes time to try dilator #4. You might want to ask, your less than two months out now. Maybe dilator #3 preps you enough. Let's hope.

You don't need much help, your skin natural stretches to handle #4, it might be a little discomforting but this is why your healing everything in such smaller sizes that nothing rips when it comes to #4. You'd be surprise how many guys out there beat the #4 girth. I have seen my share of monsters.

I am loving my BA, I think they are the perfect size for me right now. Any larger and the skin would have been so tight it would have been miserable. The pain from the tightness and stretched skin is gone already. It was very intense the first week, like my chest was on fire. Even the aureola and nipples were stretched and painful, who would have thought. The fire feeling was most focused there. Especially noticeable lying in bed at night ...and most intense when waking and getting up from bed when the blood rushes. I couldn't tolerate a sheet over them, even with my nightgown. Now, I just have soreness all over from the muscle, which is still healing. It's much better now.

Again here, I went through Breast Augmentation (375cc/390cc) making them a D which grew into a Double D which is still proportioned to my body. My doctor went submuscular and I was in discomfort for nearly 3 weeks when suddenly they dropped! after that happen, although I had some discomfort I was finally able to use my arms with the chest muscles a bit. SUPPORT is very very important for the first 3 months, then you can free lance them just like I do and stay all perky!, It for sure feels great to sleep on them!, it's an extra cushion, and my bf sure likes them! I have Saline's and they are very very soft!

Quote
You could certainly be back at work with only the muscle discomfort and skin tightness two weeks out. I think even one week would be okay, but there is more pain then. It may depend somewhat on how stretched the skin is. But, I only have my own experience to go by. If it was only the breasts done, I would definitely be back to work now.

You have to remember that anytime you get breast implants, even if would of been smaller, your skin stretches. How we are genetically made with skin elasticity is wonderful, the skin can stretch, then grow cells to accomadate the new stretch.

Quote
The breasts are dropping slowly and the initial swelling has gone down or disappeared. Viewed straight on in a mirror, they look like normal breasts on my body, which is a great feeling. I don't see my old body any more in a mirror. Viewed from the side, they are still a little too high, too full on the top. The skin is adjusting and no longer tight like at first. And the breasts are softening. The areola and nipples are not too small, they look good with the size I got.

My areola's are huge and so are my nipples, once all swelling is gone, I felt like the breast were no longer foreign objects but rather a long time part of me. (That will be your ahhhhhhh goal) youll know once that happens. I am going on one year, 3 months post op and I can run run! (LOL make sure to wear a job suit that holds stuff because you know... lolllll)

Quote

When I look in the mirror, my shoulders no longer stand out to me. I look more balanced in my opinion.

The inframammary fold or crease isn't developed well yet since the skin is still tighter and the breasts still dropping. That will come in time, months yet.

Indeed it goes come same for me, it used to be just round, then the breast "Dropped" fully and caused the natural gravity occurence of the "Fold"

However, apprently some girls have complained in Thailand with their breast augmentation of never dropping and being hard as a rock.

Cleavage will depend on the bra I wear. Because of the width of my sternum there is only so much Dr. B. can do.  He recommended the cohesive round smooth gels to give me fullness and as much cleavage as possible. If I push them slightly together, the cleavage is good, much, much greater than before the BA. I'm sure once the skin is not so tight it will be better. My chest width is 37". I imagine a smaller girl will have an easier time with cleavage.

Um, I barely have to squeeze mine togheter to get cleavage! It's just there... (private message me to add on msn, and i may show ya)

Quote
Now that my mind is adapting to seeing the breasts on my body, I agree with Juliekins, I could have gone bigger. Dr. B. tells me that is normal for girls. Once we get used to the look, we want more, not realizing that what was added was significant already.

I actually was told by Dr. Sliwin to go bigger then my original choice because I wouldn't of liked the size I choosed, I took his advice and he couldn't be more right.

A milestone a few months out will be running, which I miss immensely. I will have to get a good support bra and see how it goes. Will probably write a post on my experience.

Read up incase you missed it :P lol

I wish everyone having a difficult time could get their surgeries. Maybe we should all move to Canada?

woot woot hurray, I wish, then I could all see you guys no problem! We can have a girls night at the clubs or movies or dinner. :)

I'm glad my dilation schedule gives alot of time to work up to #4, will just have to focus when time and take some deep breaths. I'm sure I'll make it work. For now #2 is tight.

lol your tight, tell that to a guy, he will be into you like jam on peanut butter.

Quote
I kind of wish I had gone bigger on the BA, but as I was saying, it would have hurt even more. I thought I had alot of skin from having a full A cup, but the 450cc's were really tight. Now that the swelling is going down and the skin is adapting, I think another 100cc's would have been nice. Maybe in time hormones will give me that extra 100. I think they have more growing to do like yours did.

Yes don't be discouraged or think you need bigger, I think BA, knocks something loose, because after I had mine, a couple of months later my Rib Cage was the same (34) but my D cup's were tight.. I went to get fitted and she said ma'am your a 34DD

Now you must think 34DD IS way out of proportion and look huge, its not,... it helps balance my shoulders..

They looked like barbie doll boobs at first.

Indeed they do!! LOL

The massage routine is very minimal, 2 minutes a day pushing in, up and down. Not out. Wow, I just read the instructions again and it says we do not want to move them out, something I was doing. I need to pay attention more. Hopefully I didn't mess them up. Thinking I should start wearing the bra again so they dont fall to the side. I've been recuperating on my back alot, which isn't good for them. The bra is making more sense now.

Every doctor is different and will give you different techniques, when I got my BA, the doctor did it for me the first one, then i asked him to do it again because I forgot (I didn't really, it just felt good) oh yea.. im that bad :)

Quote

Also, they are getting softer everyday, which is a relief.

I'm so glad to hear you can run with your implants. I can't wait to get out there. It's beautiful outside right now.
I don't have a bf now, so I doubt anything will be happening at 3 months out for me. It'll happen when it's right. I would be surprised if I make it 6 months out though :-)

And yes, but again make sure to wear something tight like a tracksuit or like me, i have a tank top for sports. but sometimes I need to wear a sports bra for extra hold.
