I looked at the TS-Si site and all but still don't know what TS-Si means, particularly the Si. Does anyone?
See their FAQ's:
http://www.ts-si.org/faqs/2018http://www.ts-si.org/faqs/2358"Si" stands for "Symposium." They are a group that opposes the inclusion of transsexual people (using the terminology, "HBS") under the transgender or the LGBT umbrellas, and advocates for a binary understanding of gender. This stance is in clear opposition to the stance of the administrator of this site, and promoting it on this site would likely violate the terms of service.

I have to be careful here. I'm going to criticize Sandeen. Understand this criticism has nothing to do with her gender, gender presentation, or self-identification.
Autum Sandeen is pretty much at the extreme other end of the spectrum from the TS-Si folks. While I don't support their views in general, on one point I think I agree with them: I think that she was itching for a fight, and I'm not the slightest bit surprised she found it. I don't feel a great deal of pity for her simply because I'm pretty sure she knew what she was getting into, both with the cops and the reaction from the HBS wing. That's not to blame her: however inflammatory she can be, she should of course be treated with basic human respect. And that's not to excuse the behavior of the police, nor TS-Si's inflammatory article.
I just don't think any of it is terribly surprising, and I expect Sandeen was probably prepared for it better than the majority of people (trans or not) who try generally to stay out of trouble, because she pretty much knew she was going to provoke some cops into arresting her that day. She seems to me to be the brand of activist who wishes she had been around for the big civil rights fights of the '60's, the liberal version, more or less, of men who dream of one good war they can fight in and thus gain glory.

[p.s. -- Just to be clear, TS-Si is a bunch of dirty old egg-sucking dogs. Or something like that. My point is, to Autumn - and really any people that intentionally put themselves forth as public figures -- you've really got to grow a thicker skin. There are jerks on the Internet. Get over it. Calling them all out is kind of like picking up all the garbage in Times Square. It's a dirty, pointless, and utterly futile job.]
